she said that it was not important anymore to her and felt I should feel the same way if I loved her. We are young 40ish and I felt she is being selfish. I dont need sex everyday I would be good with twice a week. I just could not handle the situation anymore and I do believe my feeling count

Yeah ... not sure who told your woman sex doesn't matter in a relationship ... but they need to be punched in the face ... !

At your age ... sex should be a healthy part of the relationship ... not something breaking you apart ... !

I think she's being selfish too ... sex isn't EVERYTHING ... but if it's something you want and she doesn't that's should be a big red flag for you that something is wrong .... not sure why she doesn't want sex anymore ... but maybe if you ask her what you can do different to make it more exciting for her .. then at least try before getting rid of her for some young hot sexy chick that will rock your world for one night ... haha ... !

Sex isn't everything, but it is sonething. And I think it is important to a relationship. If she thinks there shouldn't be any sex, then I would think she doesn't give you or the relationship much importance. At the very least, she should consider your feelings and not just expect you to go along with it. If you love someone, shouldn't you also want to share that part of yourselves with each other? That is the only thing that you both have that is supposed to be yours alone.

True, your opinion does count and if you only want to like twice a week, it's fine. Just she wants to prove to herself that you really love her for her and not for the sex she can give you, most likely. A relationship should be about both of you, pleasing each other. Two nights a week doesn't hurt. Also, talk to HER about it nicely and about your feelings and see how it goes from their. You need to communicate, just because you are forty doesn't mean that you are too old to communicate or have sexual relations. If you really love her, tell her not to worry because sex isn't all you want and the only one you want it with is her. Good luck.

Hello stephen s,

You are right. You did the right thing, getting out while you can. A relationship is a two way trip and you both have to be getting something out of it. I divorced my X-wife for the same thing, and haven't regretted it a bit. It was very expensive, but it was the best thing that I ever did for myself.

Your feelings are just as important as hers. There are plenty of women out there that actually like having sex with a good man. Happy hunting.

Maybe you should have tried to spice it up a lil bit! Tell her you don't mind if it's only once in a while. Or that you don't feel close to her without it because being intimate makes you remember how sexy she is? I don't know, but if you love her you should defiantly try something because 8 years is a long time to waste!

first off young and 40ish shouldn't be used in the same sentence, and you sound like a jerk for cutting someone out of your life because she doesn't like having sex.have you considered that it was you and not the sex itself.

you are shallow, you shouldn't base a relationship on how good sex is and crap like that!! your love should come from inside of your heart! if you really love her and want to get back with her, you'd better be really appologetic and she better be very forgiving!!!!
