how can you make saltpeter with items you can find at home?

It's potassium nitrate. You can buy it at a chemical supply house.

you can surely make saltpeter! but its a big messy job! lol if you have alot of cow manure , tree ash, leaves and urine...it used to made in large quantities. go here and look www fryingcolors com/saltpeter html

u cant make it in the house u have to get it. i believe ice packs have saltpeter in them. also the drug store prolly carries it.

It doesn't work for the reason you're thinking of using it for. Its an old wives tale! Just like Spanish Fly, there's no such thing.

saltpeter is a naturally occurring mineral. you can buy it at drug stores or farm feed stores.
