This is sad. You need to show some respect and get that azz off of the boob tube while that guy is trying to talk. You should be asking questions about what he is talking about. That is the act of conducting a conversation. It is give and take. If he is giving you lots of conversation, you should be able to take part of what he is saying and dig deeper by asking questions. That's how you get to know a person.

well when I use to have that problem - I would just come out with something really random - like once there was silence and I said something like 'You know what? I give kudos to whoever made microwaves... all you have to do is put something in, press a button, and walaaa! you got food ready!' and he started laughing because I was random like that lol so just be random =)
