Any tips, and what products I should use?

I've had good results with the Manic Panic brand of hair dye. It's sold quite a few places (Sally Beauty and hot Topic) and is pretty easy to use. Whatever brand you get, read the label - you might have to bleach your hair before dying purple if you want a bright or deep purple color but I have dark brown hair and din't bleach when I used it and it still looked nice.
Be sure to wear gloves to protect your hands and have hair clips handy to seperate the hair you want to dye from what you don't want colored. I've found that a small application brush (found at Sally Beauty or hair stores for about a quarter) is nice to apply the color or you can use your fingers.

I do hair. You should have it professionally done. You will need to pre-lighten your hair, which is bleach. Then you will need to keep the purple color on for quite a while. Maybe sit under a dryer. I recommend the RUSK scream products. They last hella long and have minimal fading. Good Luck

have a professional do it. Some of the stuff you can get at a store requires you to prelighten your hair, some also contain metallic dyes. If you use metallic dye on your hair it's pretty much stuck that way. Let some one who knows what they're doing do it for you

Purple is a really harsh color. Maybe u should go to your hairdresser and get a purple tint through your hair, Which mean's it just add's a natural purple shine to hair.. it is best for dark browns and black color's :)

Why do you want to dye your hair purple?
It looks like you have pretty dark hair...thats nice, I'd stick with that.

umm if you have black hair and want to dye it dark purple its not going to last...because a lot of my friends do that and they have either dark black or brown hair and it fades really really fast and its not that pretty...

i think manic panic is the best dyes to use for the
un-natural colors and its pretty cheap and the dye is already mixed and the colors turn out best i love them and you can get them at sally beauty supply store.

Manic-panic is a good product i dyed my hair blue one summer on a dare. if you have a sally's beauty supply in your town that is a perfect place to buy manic-panic products.

Go to Sally's Beauty Supplies and they have the largest selection of shades from different brands. I am sure that you will get what you want.
