All of my family and my husbands family live within 15 miles of eachother. I mean all that includes cousins and aunts and everybody. It is a good thing and a bad thing. If you say something about someone else in your family someone is going to tell them. You can not keep secrets thiers no such thing when you live in the same town. It is great to have everybody around you when you need them, and everybodys around when you don't need them. Sometimes I wish thier was a little more distance just for a little privacy. But I do feel lucky that I have such a big loving family.

When my sons moved out, they knew the five mile rule. My rule of course and it was that you must move at least five miles from moms kitchen, pantry, washer and dryer. Most of my family, sons included, live about fifteen miles away. It's close but a car and not just a walk are necessary. How close depends on the people involved. The best thing is to always have that little bit of distance so that everyone has their own space and privacy.
My fiance's family, mom, sister, and granddaughter at least, all live next door to each other and make each other crazy. One is always mad at another and one is always feeling as if they have to take sides. We are about twenty miles form them and when the chance to be one of te neighbors came available, no was the only answer.

Well, I live in a small town to start with, and the members of my family live within the same area. One pair of my uncle and aunt live a road down with my grandmother. Another pair lives two houses down. The other two pairs live about ten-fifteen minutes away.

Truthfully, it's nice to know that your family members are so close, but it's horrible when you don't like them very much and you risk seeing them in such a small town.
