I am a little apprehensive that lately I get hit on a LOT in coffee places and it scares me a little to actually give out my number when they all ask me for it. Have you ever had a POSITIVE experience that came out of being asked out in a cafe? ladies ? or guys - what are your 2 cents ?

Coffee shops are today's bars ... w/o the alcohol. I've never been hit on nor have hit on anyone in a coffee shop but other than most people who go into coffee shops are there pretty much as normal people. No phonies. Bars are notorious for that. So why not. Go out with one. Just take care of yourself and good luck.

When I used to work at Second Cup, this girl gave me her phone number on my last day of work, out of nowhere. I went out with her, which turned out to be a big mistake because she was suicidal and ended up in the hospital with a bottle of Tylenol and Xanax inside of her. Then a few months later she jumped from the 11th floor of her building.

Poor poor Ariel.... I still think about you.

Coffee shops are just like everywhere else -- lots of nice guys hang out there. And so do lots of Pervs.

Use common sense and don't do anything stupid.

Don't give out your number. Tell them you will take theirs or tell them you will mee them back there at such a day and time and get to know them better. If they understand they may be worth your time. If they don't you are better off.
