i'm not saying that all Christians do it. But most of them do. I mean, doesn't your book say "judge not; lest ye be judged"? Everytime I say i'm a Wiccan everybody seems to freak out and ask the same stupid questions "do you worship the devil?" "can you fly?" "aren't you afraid of hell?". If your book tells you to love thy neighbor, why the hell do you continue to judge Non-Christians as though we're lower than you? I thought your book said that God gave us free will. Honestly, I think that by judging Non-Christians it gives you a feeling of superiority. Does it not? By judging us you are no better than this demon you call Satan himself.

A lot of people who claim to be Christian aren't! They just like to tell everyone else how good they are!

This is slightly off-topic, but whenever one of the prosletyzing sects (Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, etc.) come knocking on my door, I always tell them I am a practicing witch! It's fun to watch them freak out. I usually carry one of my "familiars" (my cat) with me to the door, with my hell hound (my dog) at my heels. He is usually snarling, for good measure! Ah, good times watching them run!

Seriously tho, I am a Catholic but I say "Live & let live." If you're not hurting anyone, who am I to tell you how to worship? You don't tell me how to pray, and I won't ask you if you can fly!

Wouldn't it be great if everyone felt that way and we could just all get along???!!!

Everyone has judged someone else at one time or another. I'm sure that someone has told you something about themselves that made you feel somewhat differently about them, even if you didn't want to think that way. It's just a subconscious thing. What I'm trying to say is that when people hear that you're a Wiccan, they may automatically be a bit shocked and believe that you worship the devil and fly partly because they probably don't know anyone else who is a Wiccan and partly out of ignorance. They are just curious. A good Christian wouldn't continue to judge you this way once they found out more about it.

I wrote the down the same question too.Im a christian and In the word of god is says not to judge the world, because god himself will do that. The only thing christians are supposed to do is spread the gospel and warn the world of the second coming of christ. I do agree on some of the things you said, but you question was also judgemental, only aiming at christians. Why not islam, or buddhist? its sad to say this but people will always judge. Its human nature, but Christians arent supposed to judge anyone because the same way we judge someone is the same way we'll be judge.

I am a Christian and right now you are judging...

THe reason why Christians are wary about Wicca and witchcraft is not because they are arfraid of it- it is because the Bible condemns it as illegal tampering with the dead and demons and spiritual powers.... which is dangerous....

Now I do not judge or hate people... but I don't aggree with Wiccan ideology.... that is why I will not simply remain comfortable around it or accept Wiccan practices as harmless fun or as good....

I have nothing against the Wiccan person, love the sinner not the sin.... HEY I am a sinner too, not a practicing one but a sinner nonetheless... saved by God's grace His Son.... His grace is availible to anyone that accepts Jesus.... We are all sinners... Jesus takes away sin and provided the only way to God... that all may become His chlidren....

I know alot of ex-Wiccans that have found God via Jesus Christ... when the terrot cards failed them, when the stars did not help them, when the white magic led to dark magic, when the spirits or anything else did not fill the emptyness in their soul... they came to Jesus and lived...

Jesus is availible to you as well... it is a choice to accept and recieve Him and His forgiveness... I cannot force Him down your throat and niether can He.... I do not caonsider myself as "holier than thou" that is hypocritical sin.... everyone needs Jesus..

Will you choose Him?

God is waiting for your answer with open arms...

I may not be a libral nor have an open mind so open that my brain falls out... but as a Christian I am to be understanding... and I pray that God will bless you and your family and show you the Truth...

In Christ love,

The bible tells us to judge ALL things by the word of God to see if they are right or not, good or evil. God will judge people, we are to judge what they do and say by the bible. How do we know what is right or wrong if we do not test and judge things? BTW, the text "judge not lest ye be judged" is used so very wrong by the worldly as a scapegoat for their will to sin. We are not to judge someone else for something we are doing ourselves, that is what that verse means. If we are truly walking with God we are to judge EVERYTHING!

maybe because they don't have the same beliefs and are afraid to live the life as unbelievers of God do.But at least they should step out and tell them about Jesus instead of judging them based on how they look or dress talk or walk. I really don't know but that is a good question.I'm a Christian myself and I never judge a book by its cover because anyone can change

That sentence goes on to explain "judge only by the exact standard that you yourself can be judged by", so judgeing is technically acceptable. It fits in with that "let you that have no sin cast the first stone" and the "pluck the plank out of your own eye before picking at the splinter in your neighbor's eye" thing. Big important stuff. Major points that too many forget. They just slip into that human nature thing of attacking what they don't understand. I wish The Big Ten included an 11th commandment that said "Thou shalt not bully those different from thyself". Don't allow them get you down, or you will slip into being judgemental yourself.

the fact of the matter is that most of mankind is not mature enough to handle religion. We never have been and I don't think we ever will be. People should respect the individual, regardless of what religious orientation. In the end we will all find the truth so why worry about the religious orientation of another? If they are truly a good person then good will come to them after their clocks have run out. Besides... for those of us who live in the United States it is just ridiculous to judge another religion. That is because one of the founding principles of our nation was freedom of religion. I think a lot of people forget that basic principle that helped found our nation.

Only God Can Judge

well, why do non Christians judge Christians?
It works both ways, but to answer your question - it is human nature to judge people no matter if you are Christian or not. It isn't right, but it is everyones nature and those who say they don't judge in some aspect - are not telling the truth. It may be that you judge by talking about what someone is wearing, or what someone said - it is our nature and will always be. Sad, but true.

I agree with the context of your question. But the specific Scripture you're citing (Matthew 7:1, from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount) does not refer to never exercising judgment under any circumstances. Indeed, Jesus goes on to say that the standards we use to judge others will ultimately be applied to us.

I want to apologize for those Christians who have judged you based on what you do as a Wiccan (am I saying that right?); quite a few do judge others just to show off. The command to "love thy neighbor as thyself" often scares Christians because they read it as love what the other person does as well as love them. I can love a drug dealer or a rapist, even if I don't love what he or she does.

The love the Bible talks of most often is translated "brotherly love" (e.g. "By this shall all men know ye are my disciples, if ye love one another." from the "Last Supper") Because Christians are called to love others as Jesus Christ loves them, they're supposed to speak the truth in love. As you've seen, many fall far short of that.

Please understand that most Christians are not trying to sound stupid, but often they approach people of different lifestyles and faith traditions with less than adequate knowledge. When we truly love -- in the Christian sense, to honor and respect -- others, it's our obligation to be a RELEVANT witness, to say with our actions that though we don't love what you do, we love you for who you are, a distinctly created child of God. Our witness ultimately can't be guns blazing through the fire or the earthquake, but rather a still, small voice.

Have a blessed day!
