Why indeed. I'm dont hate them, I did leave the church after I think it's the belief of a totally new scriptures that is more correct and unchanged than the Bible and let's face it, it IS a little far fethced. Not only is the book a problem, but G-d has a wife? The mother goddesss? If I wanted to worship a goddes, I would live in pagan/ancient Greece or Rome. For goodness grace, G-d does NOT HAVE A WIFE. Conclusion
1. G-d does not have a physical human body-This is blasphemy
If he has a body what ethnicity is he-white? Since most
Mormons are white anyways
2. G-d does NOT HAVE A WIFE-the mother goddess that
Mormons believe in. SO Ancient Greece and pagan.
why not worship her instead?
3. G-d does NOT have intercourse with this deity, I mean
come one!
4. G-d and Jesus do not look the same. Some missionaries
showed me a drawing of this, it was scary
5. Black people were not allowed to be priests in the LDS church
because of the curse of Cain. It wasn't after the civil rights
did the prophet say "G-d told me that now Black men can
have the priesthood" How convenient!
6. That reminds me, Gd has no more prophets.
But they do keep healthy and are friendly so it's a plus to have them in society.

People fear people who are different from themselves. Mormons make their differences public sometimes. They are known for having a higher standard of ethics, a desire to help the community, a strong belief in god, and strict Mormons don't drink caffeine. Some also like large families. They are also known for the two most wholesome pop icons that ever hit the stage—Donny and Marie.
All truly despicable traits; well they are if you're the spawn of Satan.
The Mormons I have know have been very good people; people who make great friends, and are willing to help others. I learned that the Mormon Church requirement for a one-year stock of food is to help people in times of need, and not just their own family.
Mormons are also known for polygamy, marrying young women, and the religion differs from mainstream Christianity.
Polygamy may have been allowed by their religion, but it was more a factor of the community. A large family, with several caregivers was a more stable family. In such a large family no child went uncared for, and no child would ever be an orphan. The allowance for polygamy was based on how the well the male household leader could support his potential family. It was not done to give the man an extra chance to have sex. The early Mormon society was built far from civilization in a rough region. Polygamy was the community’s way to provide support for their children since they couldn't always rely on their frontier community. Not that the community wouldn't want to help, but that often they could not help. These people were living near the edge and developed a method to insure family stability. A few modern day Mormons want to stick to this traditional way of life and that makes them very unpopular with modern society. Although only a very few Mormons would want to live this way, outsiders are willing to tar all Mormons with this brush; thinking that all Mormons are like this.
I am not religious so I don’t know a lot about the actual religious differences, but they are one from of Christianity that is a different from the main stream. This makes them unusual and feared, and people hate those people that make them afraid. This is where most of the prejudice against Mormons comes from.

Not everyone is, but you got to know, a question like this only invites those who are to say their nasty comments.
Most of it is just honest misunderstandings. People just hear a lot of things that are either false, or pulled so far out of context they're scarcely recognizable. They either honestly think they're trying to help save souls, or they're the grown up version of those kids in Elementary school that had to put others down just to make themselves feel good.
Don't worry about it, kids who got made fun of, still turn out to be well-adjusted adults, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will still continue strong, despite their banterings.
For a little perspective, check out how many other religions get bashed here, you'll find we're not alone.
Best Wishes!

I think the mormons have a lot of in common with the black muslims movement. They share an equal, or what I would call "urban" mythology. That is a lot of modern religion...origins in the 19th cent. with newly made "scriptures", "apostles" and fake history.
Even if one should always respect all kind of peoples religion it's kinda good laughter when they choose to take the "church" dogma/faith literal.
Out of this it is not strange to see why the episcopalian churches which all are based on the apostoloc creeds do not recognize mormon baptism since mormon people just like jehovas are not christians. The same attitude among sunni/shia muslims concerning the black muslim movement. Both of them plain heresy according to the majority of x-ians and muslims worldwide.

Because, being a daughter of Mormon parents, I think that society has built invisble walls against the things that confuse them or things that they don't understand. On the other hand, some Churches see The Mormons as a threat considing it's one of the fastest growing faith on the planet. I dunno. But I myself don't judge Mormons. And although it's considered a cult because they have a president of their church; Why don't people judge Catholics? I mean, they follow the Pope right? just because I don't agree with everything they believe doesn't i have to judge them. I think if more people talked to Mormons and actually listened they wouldn't be so anti.

I don't think that people are as against Mormons as they don't understand them. If you are not Mormon, a lot of their customs seem like they are designed to leave everyone else out. People don't understand why it is that they can't have caffiene or have other restrictions. Add that to the fact that most Mormons (at least the vocal ones) are very devout, and I think it's more of a misunderstanding than anything else.

I used to be mormon and I will tell you why. I am not against it so much, but the fact they were built off of occult belifs and denied it troubled me. Joseph Smith was a high order mason and a seeker of the mysteries of the universe. He told people things that they were not ready to know and he was killed for it. His mason brothers killed him because some of the things he said cannot be known by people who don't have the responsibility to use that knowledge for mankind's benefit.
schenzy is right also, the salamander......now that makes a great and interesting story..i love it

Why are ALL religious people unintelligent?
See, you shouldnt quantify your questions with absolutes. Not EVERYONE is against Mormons. Im not. But you have got to admit - that story about J. Smith and his magical stones for translating golden tablets is pretty unbeleivable...but then again, so is the entire Bible...
However, I would like to point out that you misspelled Against, Mormons, Seems, Against (twice), and Latter-Day. So, looks like my absolute was "righter" than yours!
