In the book of Ezekiel 13:3"Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!" This is the subject of the chapter, "foolish prophets" Than it goes on saying: 20"Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly."
The subject in the book of 1 These 4 is in verse 13-14. These verses are saying: don’t be ignorant concerning the ones that are dead, or sorrow as if they didn’t have hope. As we believe that Jesus died and rose to Heaven, so are the ones that die in the flesh, they are in Heaven with God. Confirmation: 2Cr 5:8 “We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.”
So, why feel that 1 Thes 4:16-18 says that there will be a ‘rapture’.

1 Thes 4:15 is saying: we can’t keep the dead from going to Heaven because they are already there.
1 THes 4:16 is saying: the dead in Christ will rise first because they are in Heaven already. Keep the subject, the dead in Heaven.
1 Thes 4:17 is saying: We that are still alive, we will be transformed into the spirit to be with the Lord.
There is no rapture. Think about it.

Amen! We are to stay in the field,...meaning the world and STAND against the anti-Christ,...aka satan , when he comes in pretending to be Christ and deceiving the world. YHVH God The Father is our escape and HE will see us through. No false doctrine flying away.

Ezekiel 13 says nothing about pillows. you are right about there being no rapture. Acts 2:34 even says that David is not in heaven. When Jesus comes in the clouds every eye will see it and then we all(who love Him) will go to heaven together. Not the dead ahead of the rest of us. I mean if there is no sadness in Heaven what would our ancestors think of some of the choices we have mad while they watch from above?

I can't recall his name, but this "theory" (ahem, harumph) gained popularity after some nutbird fixated on it in either the 1800's, or late 1700's. Seems he had a church in northern Europe somewhere. Maybe Holland. (Oy, those pesky details!) I have always been amazed at the number of people that accept this interpretation. I think it is an extrordinary example of taking things out of biblical context, as nutbirds are prone to do. (Ahem, harumph...)

Did we not already answer your rapture question earlier? Why are you trying to prove there is no rapture? I gave you many verses earlier that explained when God would take his church and we would not go through the tribulation. If you don't believe, then that is fine - but you will see that you are wrong.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord if we are saved. That is what the bible says. I do not believe in a rapture doctrine.
