Boxing the very nature of the sport is about hurting your opponent. Yes people have been seriously hurt, killed. Benny Kid Paret, and Duk Koo Kim are two tragedies that come to mind. Quite a few have been killed in the ring due to brain injuries.

Boxing is a brutal sport. As a young person, I watched on tv, the emile griffith benny parfet bout, and watched how griffith pounded paret into submission. In my estimation, its all about money and greed. The boxers are the ones who get hurt and the promoters and the fat cats get rich.

Even if the injury is not immediate, there can be long term effects. Have you ever seen Mohamed Ali??? His brain was jostled a little to much...he's a wreck.
