How is it treated?

It is supposed to be caused by not enough iodine, but I used iodized salt all my life and I still got one. It can be treated with a small dose of thyroid hormone, so the thyroid doesn't have to work as hard. If it gets too big, it is treated with surgery.

I think one is genes or something like the environment, I'm not sure so don't count me on that, and I think it can be cured with medication or exercise, but it's best to see a doc about this.

One time the doctor thought I also had an enlarged thyroid in my early teens, but it was negative. I think enlarged thyroid makes you also more suseptible to illnesses like diabetes and high blood pressure. stuff like that.
