I am not attacking, this is the only way I know how to put it.Christians have had crusades, inquisitions, murdured and tortured nonbelievers. They go out,and call themselves missionaries. What they do is destroy cultures, bring diseases, and tell the people they will not cure the diseases they brought less they convert. This has long been a practice of the church. Now christians say "those were not true christians".Look at today.Your childrens children will look back and say, "oh they were not true christians" about you for the stand on gay rites, etc. Many have been killed for sugesting the earth is not the center of the universe, etc because it conflicted with religion.Look at evolution,in the future, this will be acepted by the church.Christians need to live up to their religions past.It is not that your sect did not do that, because most did,and you are all chrisitans. It is not ok if you just repent. I admitt it is not just christians, and not all christians.

This is no attack. I know most groups do this, I just want to take a look at what I see on YA.

Point is, think ahead, and learn from the past.

It's an easy cop-out to say "they're not true Christians" when in fact those were the only one's considered True. They would rather avoid the whole thing, write it off that it was just a few bad people who used the Christian label and try to establish a new image. Which will not work, because the appearance of evil is already set into the label.

Some people sad to say aren't educated enough to use their god given brain cells to think for themselves.

And the worse thing you can do is forget you do have a brain that god gave only you and gave you the ability to think and not use it to fear others if you don't think like they do.

If god didn't want me to use my brain he would have left it out of my head do you feel me.

A brain is one of the most fundamental needs of our human body and we need to start using it and not live in fear of voicing our concerns.

Narrow minded thinking has made the world worse off because people who is suppose to love thy neighbor would hate thy neighbor because they dont' agree to their logic.

People also pick and choose what part of their religion that they want to follow and when something doesn't fit their situation they don't follow it.

A line in the bible quotes jesus as saying about the blind leading the blind which means if you can't think for yourself and you follow a thief, then you will suffer the penalties of being a thief.

Well, I think that many Christians are living up to their bloody, intolerant past.

For many Christians, there is no compromise. They really, sincerely believe that the End is near and that they are in a war to save souls, as many as possible. And it can make people do some crazy things.

I just wish they understood that God speaks to all people...perhaps not in a way that they understand, but I for one believe that God speaks to us all, no matter our faith, nation, or race. He is divine after all.

no, you're not attacking, you're being insulting. yes it is TRUE that under the banner of Christianity atrocities WERE committed. And part of learning from the past as you put it means that the SAME MISTAKES ARE NOT REPEATED. (duh!)
I'm sure that you've done a lot of stupid things as YOU grew too, would you want to be encouraged to continue doing dumb things?
Would you want to live under the expectation that all you're capable of is doing wrong, making mistakes and exhibiting poor judgement?
somehow, I don't think so.

Excellant point, but you want Christians to behave as the old cultures did? God teaches us that his truths will be revealed when he decides, not when we humans deem it. Jesus spoke quite harshly against traditional paths, making a lot of people angry, most not realizing that tradition stifles growth, as many still do not realize. However not all is lost, keep seeking and you won't be one of those who love is lost on.

man is guilty of hate, war, violence. every man is fallible

just because someone believes they are under a certain title, does not make them a true believer. furthermore, just because someone is a believer does not make their actions an epitome of that belief system

christianity does not teach war or hate. that is why true christians try to abstain from it
