They are both too young to spay, and neuter. They jump and run around the house from 3am to 6am, tearing up my couch, clawing, jumping on me, making all kinds of noise, tearing out my toilet paper rolls, and dragging it everywhere. They have a scratching post, that only the female uses, and a ton of toys, but no!!! They want to pounce on me, and wake me up! I also can't seem to get the male to use the post to sharpen his claws. My son plays with both of them all day long, so I don't understand their energy in early morning. HELP!

Cats are nocturnal, that's when they're naturally most active. can you shut them into a room with their toys and stuff at night to reduce noise and damage?

Also, as they get older they'll get lazier. This may just be a wait it out situation.

Been there, done that! We have one that we tried everything mentioned above . What worked for us was the cage. We tried it as a last resort and it worked. When we stay up late on weekends she is at her cage door about her usual bedtime, waiting to be let in. Just make sure the cage is big enough for a litter box, a food and water dish and room for your cat to stretch out. We have one that has a shelf where she likes to sleep. In the morning when we let her out her sister runs in and hops in the bed and hangs out for a few hours.. Good Luck!

Have you thought of putting them in cages pver night. i did that to our cat ever since it was a four week old kitten and covered the cage with a towel.. She would sleep all night. I put the cage in an area of the house from from me so i would not hear the first half hour of meowing. cats are great and a lot of people see them as family but i still say you need to set rules and remind them that they are pets.

i play with mine for 1/2 of an hour-intense play. Than I put them in another room with pillows, toys food, water , and a litter box til morning.(also, you can put a clock in there with them under apillow:it reminds them of there moms heartbeat. It works for me every time. Enjoy your new babies as much I love and enjoy mine.

play with them right before bed and then feed them. cats are nocturnal, put them in a crate for the night if they bother you too much, eventually they will learn if they make noise they get put into a crate.

You can't. They are active kittens. It's what they do. You should not have gotten kittens if you wanted something quiet and subdued. Maybe an older cat is more what you are looking for.

set a regular playtime, say at 7pm-9pm, and continue that each day, it might wear them out a little...try keeping them in just the livingroom/kitchen and close all other doors that way it can contain the mess a little.

1. Give them a ticking clock wrapped in a towel. They will think it is mommie.

OR

2. Feed them gin and get them drunk before you turn in for the night.

Your choice.
