take a spanish class, and then, if you can sign up for a summer abroad class. Really, there's no language class that's half as good as total immersion. Also see if your school has foreign language housing program. Mine did, people who lived in these apartments had to speak the language all the time for class credit.
If all else fails, think about looking for some foreign roommates. One summer I lived with an Argentine and some mexican girls, they all spoke english, but agreed to speak spanish around me to help me learn, that helped a lot.

I am a language teacher and people ask me this all the time; often they get discouraged by my answer, because they are looking for a quick fix. Well, it doesn't work like that. Does the Spanish/Latin culture and language fascinate you? If so, then you are in luck, and will certainly have more success.

The way to learn Spanish or any other language should be just like the way you learned English: By hearing and attempting to speak it every day. If you truly want to be fluent, there is no other way. You could:

1. Hire a converation partner. Negotiate a price ($6-$10/hr. if you're lucky).
OR
Offer to teach a Latino english if they teach you Spanish.

2. I learned my language of choice in college, just by taking courses (it wasn't my major, either). Then my fascination with the country led me to take a job there.

3. Do you like music? I learned a lot of Spanish by listening to Shakira songs and then printing the lyrics off of the internet and singing along. (Nerdy? yes. But my pronunciation is awesome because of it).

4. And of course, Spanish-speaking tv/movies. Almost always good for a laugh, at least. Some DVD's you can turn on Spanish subtitles. Rent the sugary movie Inspiracion.

Good luck!

I feel Mandarin Chinese is spoken by means of extra men and women on the earth than some other language in order that turns out like a well alternative. I'd prefer whatever rather distinct. You have 2 romance languages down so you'll be able to fairly determine your approach by way of the others (and individuals from western Europe talk a couple of languages so that you will have to be ready to speak). Something like Russian or Chinese or Farsi might supply you an extremely good variant that are meant to end up valuable to the medication you're going to be ready to furnish.
