It's nothing to be scared of , I suspect I have A.S. but have never been tested IE diagnosed.I think it means you've an uncanny ability to focus and if something interests you you're are capable of advancing it's very science. The drawback is that you can become so intently focused you shut out all around you and can be perceived as unsociable and arrogant etcetera when in reality you're just thinking about bigger things, not the table you just bumped into or the person you didn't hear say hi. All in all I think having A.S.means you have a superior mind. as far connecting with the guys just be yourself and look for common interest you'll probably get the refreshing feeling one gets when they finally meets someone as knowledgeable as them in a field of expertise.

Don't be afraid, don't be ashamed. Aspergers means you a processing life a little differently than those around you, it doesn't mean you are a a freak. Every aspie is so different from the next, so I am not going to start giving you tips on how to live with this, but I can tellyou for sure that being an aspie has a lot of benefit. People who aren't on the spectrum are so caught up in social things they miss a lot. I have three autistic kids and I have said to them over and over, not everyone gets to be autistic. I am sure the place you are going will help you find the postive side of this, and maybe you will learn a few things about how to live around some of the difficult parts of being a minority. Remember you are understood there, and the other kids there are more like you than most of the people you have met. You hang in there, it is going to be ok.
