I have babysat small children and older children before, but it has always been at my own house and my mom has been there to help me. I feel pretty prepared, but does anyone have any tips?

Be confident in yourself and you can do it! Make sure you call someone if it gets too out-of-hand or you're feeling stressed.

Have story time
Play dolls or cars or dinos (whatever the child is into)
Bring some crayons and coloring books
Bring a CD of mixed songs, that children like, and play it and have a dance off.

If he's anything like my liitle guy...you are going to be very busy.
Keep your eyes on him at all times, and try to keep him busy.
Ask the parents how to use the stroller, and ask if it's okay to take him for a walk. Remember to buckle him in.
If there is out door play things, take him outside for a little bit..remember to put a hat on his head- the sun is pretty hot, and can burn delicate skin quickly.
Run him a cool bath (not clod - but not too hot) and let him splash around in no more then 2 -3 inches of water. Whatever you do, if you choose to go with the bath thing - it only takes 1 second for a child to slip under the water and drown - even if its only 2 inches. Please keep your eyes on him and do not leave his side. Not even if the phone rings. Stay with him and make sure that everything that you'll need is in the bathroom with you for after his bath.
Good luck to you, and have fun!!!

As a mom of a 2 yr old....

My biggest suggestion would be to keep your eyes on her. Two year olds are curious individuals and will roam. They do try to have you do things that maybe their parents don't allow (like eating in the family room or in their bedroom). I would make sure you ask about some of the specific rules of the house. I would also try to keep the child on her schedule. She may want to stay up, but if it's bedtime than you need to put her down. Most parents go over what they expect...especially if it's your first time at their house.

Try to find activities that would keep her occupied. Some examples would be to color, paint, play with Play-Doh, or play with any toys that she has. I would also suggest taking out puzzles and helping her put those together.

Good luck...I'm sure you will do just fine!!

My daugther is 2, just play with Her/Him, and let the child burn all the energy, watch some DVDs My daugther likes Dora and Elmo and barney, the tip is Play play play as much as you can and make the baby tired.make sure diapers are changed every 2 hours on a 2 year old. snacks like some fruit pieces, crackers, juice, a nice warm Pj, make sure they go to bed with a small snack in there tummy and a clean diaper. don't give anything messy like peanut butter and jelly or mac and cheese, because you will spend your time cleaning, if your going to be in the chids house make sure doors are locked, and phone at head, and you have all the emergency #'s never take your eye of a 2 year old there a hand full and in a sec can get into trouble. Please make sure everything is child proofed. Don't give a bath because a 2 year old can be very energetic and you have to be very careful and if I had a babysitter your age with my 2 year old I just wouldn't feel to conferable because there small and might be to much for you to handle Well good Luck.

First, keep a careful eye on her, of course since toddlers love to explore and put things in their mouth, ears, nose, etc. Also, watch outlets or electric cords. They also love to climb and crawl into/under stuff. Play games with her or read her some board books (if they have any at their house...or if you brought some with you). Toddlers love toys that make music, or loud noises...so if there are some..play away! Also, can play a simple game of hide'n seek behind a couch or chair (not into another room from her though...she could get scared or get into something with you not present). Anything to entertain her is great! Try playing ball (rolling it to her,etc.). If she hasn't eaten dinner yet, and you are in charge of that...just make sure that she isn't given any real big chunks of anything, nor leave her alone to eat. Though she is two, she can still easily choke if she finds it hard to chew something. If she's still in diapers...make sure she is in a onsie or pants over her diaper...some babies at this age just love to strip their diapers off after using it..or just like running around commando!

Since she's only 2 years old, I doubt if she'd be interested in barbies and dolls. I think at this age, she might enjoy watching TV and running around. I know cuz I've babysat kids her age. Read stories with her maybe. Play catch with her, or put on some music and dance with her. Make funny noises or funny faces. Make sure there's interaction between you and the kid. She'll fall in love with you instantly. Trust me on this. Kids love me.

Have a list of activities you can do with the child to keep the child busy. Read books, play games, play chase, go outside if you can, just remember if you are doing bedtime routine follow what the parents tell you to do but remember to give about a half hour of "cool down" time- that's when reading or watching her fav. cartoon is good. Good luck- it will be fun!!!

i'm a 14 365 days previous woman and that i babysit alllll the time ever on account that i changed into 12. i wager it relies upon if she's mature and how a lot man or woman she is. from time to time the more youthful the babysitter, the better positive because they relate to the youngsters better. I babysit a three 365 days previous a week and that i love staring at him. i comprehend the moms and dads all precise and they comprehend that i'm a toddler man or woman and that i'm in charge. i do not have a cell telephone or a boyfriend, i have in no way been inebriated, grounded, smoked, and so on. an outstanding style of 13 365 days olds are like that and they are better good than maximum 16 365 days olds. i'm certain you are able to believe her, only be certain to go away your cell telephone huge style and provides you her sparkling classes and she or he'll do nice :)
