ok I have a few weird habbits. For example, when someone is talking to me and I'm listening but I'm not really paying much attention, when ever they finish their sentence I listen to the last word they say and I count the letters on my fingers until it covers every finger. Hard to understand maybe, I'd have to show u to get.

ORRRRRRRR whenever I'm really paranoid about something, like whether or not my band is gonna get a gig at some place, I think like this "if I the dryer doesn't go off in 20 minutes, we won't get the gig. " Damn, it's so hard to explain this kind of crap. lol

well I always thought OCD was sumtin that is made up or it's just what doctors tell u to shutup and it's usually all in your head but when I've told ppl my habbits, they bring up OCD. Is it possible that I have it?

Hi, not to worry, OCD is a clinical diagnosis of which you fulfill none of the criteria. You might have anxiety and some compulsive traits, but you do not fulfill what is known as "OCD".

OCD is an anxiety disorder characterised by persistent obsessional thoughts and/or compulsive acts. Obsessions are recureent ideas, images or impulses which enter one's mind ina sterotyped manner and against his will. Often such thoughts are absurd obscene or violent in nature or else just senseless. Though the patient recognizes them as his own, he feels powerless over them. Also they obsess frequently about numbers, and tend to do things over and over again in series of numbers.

OCD is not something that is made up, and much evidence and new studies have pointed to real organic causes of this condition.

Hope this helps. :D

There are different types of OCD. Some people obcess over germs, others like everything in just the right spot all the time, and others have habits or routines. There are also a variety of anxiety disorders that exhibit some of the symptoms you described. People with higher forms of autism will count letters in words or panic when their routine is interrupted. Don't diagnose yourself. Find a doctor or counselor you can talk to and let them decide what may be the problem.

sounds more like Attentional Deficit Disorder. Some of the symptoms you describe are OCD like, but to be true OCD it has to take on behaviors that case social problems related to the obsessive thought.

I think we are twins separated at birth! I also check to make sure things are turned to "off" a lot, make sure the fridge is closed, stuff like that. It's better now that I am older than it was when I was younger. But I noticed that if I am really stressed about something my OCD gets worse.

You've been watching too much Monk. It's no big deal, OCD isn't a problem unless it disrupts your daily life. And if your asking us here at Yahoo Answers instead of a trained professional then it's not a problem. It doesn't sound like true OCD to me, it sounds like you like attention. Maybe that's your problem.

very possible, many people have subtle symptoms of having OCD, grnated they deny it, but everyone has their own lil OCD problem. I am not able to place anything on a table and not have it squared off, otherwise it irritates me. I count by even numbers.
