I work with a nurse who moved to Canada to be with her boyfriend and she had her work permit until she married him the past March.

I would think it would be easier to come to Canada on a work permit rather than as a landed immigrant.

There is a shortage of nurses in Canada, so you would likely be able to immigrate with little or no trouble, although you don't say what your nationality is, and that could make a difference.
Check with the Canadian consulate in England, and ask them which would be easier, and which would be better in the long term. If you plan on staying in Canada, regardless of what happens to your relationship with your not-yet-divorced boy friend, then you would likely be better to apply for immigration, and have an independent status.
Good luck!

Get a work permit and then work on immigrant status. Immigrant status can take a while. Right now the visa process in Canada (work) is going pretty well. (I work in an international office in a uni)

When my BF was in Canada and I looked into it (about a year or so ago) it seemed EASIER to go in if you could apply for a job there. It gives you a foot in the door on why you want to be there in addition to your BF.

You could always apply from England for a work permit. They are always looking for nurses so you shouldn't have a problem. Good luck! ^.^

You sure are in top demand around the world. RN's are sorely needed. I suggest you find the Canadian immigration office in England and ask them. There should be one in England.

The easiest entry into Canada is as an exotic dancer. If you have a nurse uniform thats a bonus!

Don't rearrange your entire life for a man. He's just a boyfriend and he may not be around for ever.
