For example, Stephen King, John Connolly, Clive Barker, James Patterson and ect. This is not a slam against Christians, but the Bible is hard to read and difficult to understand.

Good answers, one and all. The fact is, why do we care "He Begat this and She begat them" meanwhile, we have, HIS followers cutting off, everyone elses heads, because we don't understand "their" interpritation"? Why can't we have a common syntax, of what HIS words really are? Sorry!

Why do we have to go to Church to understand HIS laws, as interpereted by a "sinner", as much as you and I?

I think if the Bible were easy to read, people would have read it once in ten minutes and tossed it out the window. Some people probably do that already. The Bible is the inspired word of God, the people who wrote it were exactly the right people for the job. I'm using a New American Standard version, which is pretty easy to read, and I also have an NIV study bible at home, which has articles and word definitions in it, I used it a lot in college. I would not recommend the KJV to anyone who is new to reading the Bible. I have one of those too, and it is very hard to understand!

The Old KJV Bible has been used for a couple of hundred years in many parts of the World to teach English as well as to tell about Jesus.

It is sad that we in the USA and Canada have been dumbed down to the point we have difficulty reading a book.

Considering the words are no more difficult in The Bible than in mystery and love novels - it just could be that the reader just doesn't care about the contents and REALLY does not believe it is THE GOD's Information book.

Perhaps you should try reading a different translation than the one you're reading. I would recommend the NASB to you. It can be very hard to understand. Also, if there are passages that you want to learn more about, try finding a study book about them.
Also, the reason why none of those authors have written it is because they haven't been ordained by God to do it, like the men who wrote it were.
And note: The NASB is the same exact Bible and story, just not as heady as some people think the King James version is. That's all. None of the essential text is changed.

If you first believe , then let a preacher or a pastor explain it , it will come clear . Really , I used to feel like you and couldn't understand , but after a time it all became clear to me . It was like someone opened a flood gate and it all started flowing outr as fast as I could read it . Don't be discouraged , give yourself time to digest what you take in . Read the book of John and it will tell you of Jesus and why He did all that He did for us . The Old Testament is for example and the New Testament is what we are living by . Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved . John 14:6 He loves each and every person on this crazy world we live in and wants us all to be with Him in Heaven when this world is destroyed and gone . Give Him a chance to work in your life . This is no cult , it's for real . 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 God bless you

The Bible is our school book, it has things for those in kindergarten through collage and beyond.

But it does not have things for every grade set apart by it self, but it is all interwoven together into one book.

This is not a strange concept, movies aimed mainly at children have humor and other things to appeal to adults at the same time.

Each time you read the Bible you can find something new. For it is written "line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little there a little". No one can learn everything in the Bible, there are deeps to it that can be only revealed by God (and He does do this quite often).

Grow in the grace of God.

There are many different versions of the Bible that will help breakdown the content to make it easier to read. You must understand, God did appoint great authors to write the Bible. From God's lips to man's ears. But, the difference with those great Men of God/authors, they loved God. Those authors you just mentioned, are they walking with the Lord? It's hard to read the Bible by itself. You need an aid to accompany it. Or even an NIV, New Kings James or newer versions of the Bible are helpful.

great authors did write it... but they wrote it thousands of years ago in other languages. and the King James version was translated into English hundreds of years ago, when they used a completely different dialect. so yes, it's a bit difficult to read, have you ever tried to read the middle-english translation of the stories of King Arthur? headache!!!
but as has been pointed out, the point of the Bible is not to be simple to read or entertaining, although there are some great stories in it. the point is to teach, lead, chastize, correct, and light the way to God. no offense to our modern-day great writers, but none of them are exactly spiritual giants, at least not on the level they'd need to be in order to re-write or clarify the Bible.
like anything that is difficult, it gets easier with practice. I find the King James version of the Bible clear and easy to read, but I've been reading it since I could sound words out. if you really want to understand the Bible, read it, pay attention to what you're reading, and practice what it preaches.

i'm quite stoic so i can not particularly make and describe emotions realistically if i don't do slightly diagnosis. i'm additionally not a powerful speaker so writing communique promptly with out it sounding awkward is likewise a challenge. different than that, plot holes, a number of that are obtrusive on the 1st reread. I plan to conquer the 1st by ability of performing some study, watch movies of how human beings react while feeling a definite emotion. Then i take advantage of that for describing in my tale. the 2d, many times after plenty questioning (and rewriting), i could arise with some thing sensible sufficient. So i will could desire to accomplish a little hard artwork on that. the 0.33 I triumph over by ability of rereading my plot and persistently returned till i can not discover yet another plot hollow. Then I rewrite it. BQ: i don't possibly positioned plenty emotion in it, extra many times in basic terms description. Like this: "He confirmed a splash of unhappiness." or "Anger flashed in her eyes.". So it is frequently in basic terms consumer-friendly description of emotions. i don't possibly describe them too nicely intimately.

It doesn't make a difference who write the bible it will continue to be translated and translated and translated through the mind of the person who is writing it.

You have older versions of the bible and you have new where prior words have been translated to make it simpler to read.

Most likely the earlier version wasn't written in English form but in whatever native language of the interpreter during that time.

So again, you have new versions trying to make the bible easier to read in today's society.

The bible which consist of the old testament and the new testament and many of the stories are of how many lived in such ancient times. You could at one time have more than one wife but if you was suggest that to a woman today in our culture, they would literally curse you out but great men of the bible had more than one wife so interpretation is in the mind of whosoever reading it.

The Bible is the easiest book to read.It is hard for you because you did not understand the misery behind reading the word of God.For example if someone invited you to come and collect something you have been struggling to get for years free of charge i know you will get there in a twinkle off an eye because you know the misery behind it. So get connected in the spirit by giving your life to Christ then you will understand how sweet it will be to read the Bible.
