I remember an old National Geographic article showing a chimpanzee hooting and jumping just seeing a waterfall with a rainbow. Jane Goodall's explanation was it could be the chimp was experiencing awe which could be a precursor to religion. So probably about, oh, 1 gene.

I'm sorry, but God made all the animals, Chimps included, before he created Adam and Eve. He put Adam in dominion over the animals. So, I would say---the chimp has no ready for prayer----since he has no soul.

Yes, Jesus wept---tears of blood---the same thing he shed on the cross as the Lamb of God, the last sacrifice that would ever have to be made for the forgiveness of sins.
