I think you're trying to find out what else you can do once you've notified Yahoo and the police.
What'd I'd do it to sit down with your daughter and find out how this whole thing happened. People usually don't just threaten others indiscriminately. Get her to show you the messages that led up to this. Then really talk to her about how careful you have to be online....and, most important, move the computer to a place where it can be monitored by you or her dad. Be proactive ...you didn't say how old she is...she may be too young to really understand what can happen if you give out too much personal information. There are a lot of nuts out there.

You've already notified Yahoo and the police. Close the account and have a conversation with your daughter about predators.

The same repurcussions you would have if someone said the threat aloud... very little. Monitor your daughter's use, cut off contact with the threatener, move on with life.
That said, if it was a threat like "I'm going to kill you" you should contact yahoo and your local police.

Thank youf ro caring as a parent and going through the steps to get this taken care of. Many parents don't look over their children's shoulders while they are on the computer. Many just think that nothing bad is going to happen or they just don't care. So thanks for caring. Oh and notify Yahoo.

put them on ignore.
as for the police report, don't expect much to come of it, unless the offending party happens to live in the area.
in all likelihood, it's a kid just being a kid.
kids are't smart.
wish you luck with sorting this out, but putting them on a perm. ignore is a good start.
