Doesn't your choice to carry a firearm communicate a lack of faith in his ability to save his faithful follower from evil things?

Wonderful question! I often wondered that! If heaven is so great why are you still here? If God's plan is for you to get shot in a robbery isn't it your moral obligation to him not to try and dodge the bullet or save yourself? Very nice piraterachael!

It's not the guns that need to be controlled-imagine if you will a new law that requiers an arms carrier to account for their BULLETS-only returned shells get exchanged and a log of what those bullets were used for turned in-Then The Constitution would not be violated as anyone could still Bare Arms-and have no complaint as to their being able to maintain their protection but the otherside of it would be the protection from those that would use them in a criminal or violent manner. I know it is the answer for the future and should be implemented and the missing shells could be counted and there you have another way to track and regulate this liberty that has been given too much leeway. I loved guns as a boy and was restricted from using them by a father that knew his sons as he knew himself-I did considerable damage to Nature just to see if I could do it and used the excuse Target Practice-Not until I shot a bird that was on the endangered spieces list did I realize my propensity towards violence and my juvenile delinquent tendencies. WE NEED TO CONTROL THE MANUFACTUERS and distributers and I do believe that whebn the US is involved in its Arms dealings that the decision be placed before the public rather than the lobbiests and OUR decision represent which countries we will deliver these means of misery to. I will never forget the Falkland Island war when Argentina invaded that island and Reagun spoke to US and said "We totally back British interests as they are our number 1 allie-and 1 week later Isreal said that they had access to 25 fighter jets that they would be willing to send to Argentina-I knew then that the polotics of Arms Control was nothing more than a front for distribution of power. Do you wonder where The Iraqi insurgents are getting their weapons and why we are not attacking the factories that are contributing to the deaths of OUR boys? That was the principal preventative maintenance that we used in WWI & WWII to hinder the axis nations-so why are our guys getting killed-because big business in this country has its interests in these countries as well and as long as people are dying they are making money-they should be sought out by our FBI and placed into jail for contributory murder! so how do you like me now?

No, being a total passive aggressive isn't standing up for you believe in...there comes a time when you do have to get real and protect yourself and family from others about to inflict bodily harm! Read in the bible (old Tesiment) and you'll find a passage detailing the sword and how God wanted it constructed and what it was meant for. I am sure you can find other guidance if you research other religions as well. Faith happens even after you have acted brave and still have to keep going through or to the unknown.

Good question. I did not know that our Lord carried a sword. (Check God's Servant). I would say that you should not carry a gun if you are a Believer, but people feel better if they do because of all the crazy people out in the world that will indeed try to kill you. Many people live by this philosophy: get them before they get me. And how will you do that without some type of defense weapon like a gun?

I don't think it's wrong for people to defend themselves, only if someone has attacked you first. To own a gun isn't a problem, as long as it's out of reach of harm's way. In short, keep it away from children and unstable people. Also, of course you need to rely on God to protect you, but you can't just stand in an in the middle of a battlefield and wait to see if God is protecting you. Then if you get shot, one would say He isn't doing his job. It's also kinda like when you don't study for a test and say, God will be with me. No, you study for the test and you put in your effort and also ask God to be with you. So while all this ranting sounds like a lot, my point is, you do your part and He will do his. Don't just wait for his protection blindly. And don't own the gun with the intention to do wrong. If your intentions are good, then I see nothing wrong with having arms to protect yourself.

21"When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. 22But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils. Luke 11:21-22

36He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. Luke 22:36

And Christ using a weapon in defense of the Temple in John 2:15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

You can't say Christ didn't tell His people to arm up to protect themselves

You must be ignorant. Doesn't every religion teach that? Yes, they do so stop with the Christian-hate because you know our God is the only true one. You'll try to find any reason to make our God look bad but really, you can't. I would love to see the look on your face when you are standing before God someday explaining to Him why you mocked Him and the people who believed in Him. Good luck with that.

It is not wrong to carry a fire arm, or to protect your family or yourself from danger and if you are carrying a weapon be sure you know how to use it. If someone breaks into your house to steal and to murder it is your right to protect what God has given you.

I pray that when I pull the trigger God will carry the bullet to the target.

God helps and protects those who help and protect them selves!

I'm Christian and I carry a gun. Jesus carried a sword. God said to strike down anyone who wants to kill you before they can kill you... Self defense is not wrong according to my faith.
