If these symptoms began when she started taking the Zocor, then she needs to call the doctor pronto. It could be a side effect or adverse reaction. There are numerous other drugs out there to treat cholesterol, and switching to another may help.

It is normal, but it's not from the Zocor. If it was, then she'd be having those sick stomach cramps and diarrhea all of the time since she's been taking it for the past 2 months. Antibiotics cause those side effects all of the time. She could just be sick so try looking to something she ate or drank or if she had a fever lately.

I've been on Zocor for an year. No vomiting or diarrhea, but there is excessive gas. My doctor recommended taking the pill at night. Any ill effects take place while I sleep. One possible side effect of Zocor is muscle weakness. I exercise daily which may prevent any cramping.

I have had alot of experience with this drug as my husband was taking it and went into multiple organ failure a couple of weeks after taking it, He was within an hour of death, and had to be put on a resperator and life flighted The hospitals diagnosis was Zocor caused the organ failure, this drug causes extensive muscle damage which is also called skeletal muscle breakdown, the doctors name for it is Rhabdomyolysis. You need to have your mothers cpk level checked, the normal level is 49 to 397. My husbands was 5,980. i didnt make a typo there, again , his level was 5,980. his blood pressure when admitted to the hospital was 58 over 48. his stomach had a pool of blood in it from his liver dying, his lungs had started to fill with fluid, because they were failing, when they had finished testing him, my husband had heart failure, renal failure, lung failure, and kidney failure, plus he also had a mini stroke on the one side of his brain due to no oxygen, from the organ failure, Upon research of this drug there is 2 percent of the population, that cannot take this drug, because it causes organ failure, which the doctors do not tell you when they prescribe it. if you look in a prescription book it states very clearly in the severe side effects section, that it may cause organ failure, if i had known that at the time instead of trusting my husbands doctor, i would of never let him take it. thankfully my husband survived , of which the doctors were astounded, they thought he was going to die as they said all his vital signs were that of a man that had just died. also if you type problems with zocor in your yahoo search engine, you will be suprised at the amount of people that have had problems with zocor. Im not a doctor, but i would say please have your mothers cpk level checked , even if her doctor says theres no reason for it. This just happened to my husband 4 months ago, and i still have a problem sleeping, afraid im gonna find him dead in bed. Im not saying that no one should take zocor, im just saying there is a lot of horror storys out there about this drug, and any side affects should be reported to the doctor as soon as possible. Good luck to you and your mom.

Every drug has side effects that go along with them... even Tylenol
All the things you just listed are known side effects of that drug.
She should contact her Dr to see if there is a possibility of switching her medication.
