First off, the answer to your question is yes. Acts tells us of people who believed but had not been baptized with Christian baptism. They were told to receive that baptism. EVERY time the New Testament records a person becoming a Christian they were IMMEDIATELY BAPTIZED. ALWAYS. Remember Jesus words in Matt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only those who do what my Father in heaven wants will enter."
OK, I have seen lots of people talking about being baptized like Jesus was. I thing some people don't understand the scriptures on this.
Jesus was baptized by John, thus it was "John's baptism."
Acts tells us about people who had received that baptism:
Ac 19:3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. 4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
Ac 18:24 At that time a Jew named Apollos came to Ephesus. He was an educated man from Alexandria. He knew the Scriptures very well. 25 Apollos had been taught the way of the Lord. He spoke with great power. He taught the truth about Jesus. But he only knew about John’s baptism.
26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. Priscilla and Aquila heard him. So they invited him to their home. There they gave him a better understanding of the way of God.
The baptism Jesus received was not "Christian baptism." John's baptism was something different, intended for Jews during Jesus' lifetime. It was "a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins," but before Jesus death and nit in HIS name. We see that the apostles said this was not sufficient. We can conclude from that that it is not sufficient for us either.

Depends on what baptism you are talking about. In water No, Into the Body of Christ by The Holy Spirit,Yes. The moment your receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour you are baptized into His Body by The Holy Spirit Matthew 28:18-19. Pay close attention to the word IN. In what, Jesus did not say in water, He said "In The Holy Spirit" We are baptized in water to show the world that we are followers of Christ. If earthly water could wash away your sins then Jesus would not have had to come and die for us. We could just have been baptized in water. If we study the Word we will find that Jesus is also call the Living Water.

I personally believe that one has to be baptized to go to heaven and not just any way, baptism in Jesus Name is the way (Acts 2:38). It is the only way the disciples baptized anybody. Baptism is for the remission of sins, you are not born again just because you are baptized. I have seen people get baptized and there was no change in their lives. All they did was just get wet. Being born again is when the you receive the Holy Spirit in your life. There must be some repentance (asking forgiveness) before you are baptized also. That is how I feel about it. Besides Jesus himself got baptized and that was good enough for me, if he did it, so will I.

Baptism is not required for salvation. There is no requirement in the Bible that sets this forth. Accepting Christ as Saviour is. Baptism is something which is important for a testimony, an answer for a good conscience and a public declaration.
Acts 2:38 is one verse used to support the fact you need to be baptized for salvation. It talks about being baptized for the remission of sins.
The same grammatical construction we see today when we take something for a headache. We take it because we have a headache - not because we WANT one!

I got saved as a little girl in children's church - the funny thing is - my mom thought it was great to be saved but that I was to young to be baptized - go figure. Anyway, I am in my thirties now and have been in church and saved my whole life - I have also been baptized in the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongue. But - I have never been baptized in water. I don't feel that it makes me any less of a Christian. You get baptized to make a public announcement that you have been saved and it washes your sins away - I feel like being saved and believing and trusting in God and following him is what is needed to get into Heaven,. It says in the Bible that Jesus is the only way to Heaven and through him we are saved. It doesn't say you have to be baptized. What about all those people that get saved before they die - they are not baptized, do you think they don't go to Heaven?

The bible says over and over to repent and be baptized for the remission of your sins. So baptism removes your sins. One needs to be baptized. Now, someone will bring up the hypothetical situation of the person who is killed on the way to being baptized or the guy in prison who can't find a way to be baptized. Jesus gave us an example of the thief on the cross who was an exception. Nothing is beyond God's power, including our salvation. But should we teach everyone to be an exception? Or should we teach everyone to be obedient? The bottom line is that all believers should be baptized. If we trust Jesus, he will take care of the rest.

Jesus said, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved." (Mark 16:16 a)
Some say, "He that believes and is saved shall be baptized."
This is not the same thing Jesus said. It's in a different order. So, will you believe the teaching of men or of Christ?
Some say, yes that's what it says, but that is not what it means.
If Jesus had meant "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved", what would he said? I believe he said what he meant and meant what he said. I believe Jesus. "He that believes not shall be condemned." (Mark 16:16 b)
Baptism is "for the remission of sins" (Acts 2:38). Baptism washes away sin (Acts 22:16)
Baptism puts us "into Christ" and "into his death" (Romans 6:3-4, Col. 2:12, Gal. 3:27). At his death is where we contact his saving blood. That is where it was shed.
Yes we must be baptized to be saved. Jesus commands it. We must obey Christ to be saved (Heb. 5:9).

Water Baptisms are an outward symbol of our Christian faith which demonstrates to the public your allegiance to the Father, son and Holy Spirit. We are baptized by the Spirit of God when we accept Him as our personal savior. While baptism with water is an honorable thing to do, it is not a commandment in order to get into heaven. The main thing is a relationship with Jesus and being baptized in His Spirit,

You are born again when you accept Jesus Christ. You should be baptized after that but it is not a requirement. If you never have the opportunity to be baptized God will not reject you from heaven because it is your pastors job to baptize people. You cant go out and baptize yourself. Therefore being baptized is not required.

You are saved when you ask Jesus into your heart. The next step in your walk with Christ is to be baptized. Now, you don't have to be baptized in order to get to heaven, but as a true believer you should want to obey God's commands.
