If a friend told me jokingly to enter a pageant then some guy i know (but not a close friend) chuckles and laughs. Should i consider that an insult? What do you think ? cant interpret that laugh. I was really embarassed.

If someone suggested that I enter a pageant, all of my friends would crack up. That's just not me. Are you the kind of person others could see in a pageant? If not, then it probably wasn't an insult. That's just not your cup of tea.

It would be difficult to say without knowing the individual. Some people laugh when they are nervous. Maybe he was not laughing at you but at beauty contest in general or the nerve of the person who asked you so you see how difficult it is to answer. Why would the friend jokingly tell you to enter the contest? To me that friend appears to be the person who seems at fault. Is it a joke because you are unattractive? I mean, what would be the joke? You don't need to be worried or concerned about every person chuckle or remark. What you need are lessons in confidence and some Charm School training.

Maybe he was just laughing at the whole idea of a pageant - you know the swimsuit part, the evening gowns, etc. It seems like a huge production - for what? Just so you can be reassured that you're pretty or something? You don't need to enter a pageant to know that. Anyway, you shouldn't be insulted. (Maybe he secretly has a crush on you...)

Dont' dwell on it, maybe it was the pageant idea and not you that made him chuckle. Pageants these days are a huge joke, for worthless women and maybe he thinks it's funny for anyone to think so little of themselves to be paraded around the same way that dogs are in these shows.

1. he laughed because you're not pretty enough for that pageant.

2. He would look down on you if you did enter.

3. He laughed coz it was amusing that's all.

First off, you just said your friend JOKINGLY said that then the guy laughed. She joked, he laughed. You need to lighten up.

Ignore it. He was probably laughing more about the comment than what it actually meant.

If you're that uncomfortable with what he said, talk to him about it. In all honesty, it's probably not worth it :)
