I know quite a bit about kittens and cats, and I've never seen this before. I have two other cats and neither of them had these on them. I gave her a flea bath, and they died but I'm concerned as to what they might be. She wasn't itching or scratching. She had ear mites, but they are white and microscopic, so it isn't them.

***EDIT***They didn't look like ticks, they were far too small they were oval shaped. They may just have been mites or small annoying bugs which is a good thing.. I was wondering if anyone had this happen and found it to be a bigger issue.

As I've said they are NOT ticks. They do NOT look like ticks, baby ticks or adult ticks. they are NOT ticks. I don't live near the woods, near any trees, or is my cat an outdoor cat.

They might be little flys that some people call "no see em's" they are pretty much fruit flys but they attempt to annoy you in anyway and I am sure dancing around on your cat would be a good way of doing it! I had them in my sink! They were coming up the drain!! They are probably just tiny annoying bugs! Thank goodness they aren't fleas!

Those little black bugs might be newly-hatched ticks. Giving her a bath right off was a very good idea.

Like they said, it might be ticks. Usually on dogs but cats are no exception. Better get treatment coz they breed pretty fast and very annoying. U might get it too if ure not careful. BEWARE!!!

I think their ticks. You should get 'em out of your dog PRONTO. They suck the blood out of your cat. My dog had ticks and it was really bad...

it sounds to me it might be the eggs put them in water and see if it shows any signs of blood in the glass and if it does it is the flea eggs trying to hatch also make an appointment with the vet as soon as possible.
thank you
