The Praying Mantis makes his ardent prayer for prey ..

Wrong. It teaches children to care for others . Try to be a good person. Don't tell lies. Obey your parent's. Just good sound advice. Instead of outlawed I think it should be mandatory lol. Just kidding. Teaching kid's to have good morals is something we can all benefit from. There's too many kid's now that are the boss in the family. Disrespect and trouble go hand in hand. I guess you didn't attend Vacation Bible School. That would explain alot.

I see what you're getting at, but that's just the breaks. I can't see myself telling other parents what they can or can't teach their children about life (even if I don't agree with it). As long as they don't teach anything criminal then the separation of church and state prevents (and rightly so) VBS's from being outlawed.

What would be next, outlawing the teaching of Santa Claus? Sheeeesh. Childhood is the time of fairy tales.

What really gets me is teaching hatred (like the Muslims do) to children. Teaching their children to hate anyone that is not Muslim or teaching them their purpose in life is to be a martyr (human bomb) is one of the most evil things going today. How will there ever be peace when you have a whole culture centered around war (terrorism) and death (martyrdom)?

Sorry, I got off topic a bit.

girl what you talkin about, thats a time of fellowship, sometimes this all the kids have the entire summer, and i know for a fact that they love it and a lot of fun too, its good to see children when they are happy. I did the arts and crafts at vbs and man... its a joy and a blessing to have all those kids there and i think that its cool to know that i can put a smile on a kids faces just by showing them how to make a tea light candle or make an animal out of foam. So i dont know why your thinkn like that, but i hope you change your mind

The h--l?

The kids that go to Vacation Bible School are already Christian.

Are you saying that you wish to outlaw the constitutional right of the people to peacably assemble?

You are absolutely right. If religion were never pushed on you as a kid and you had the opportunity to figure it out on your own, then I am pretty sure people would get by in life just fine. For you religious folks out there you need to ask yourself one thing.........how is your life any better than mine? I have a good job, I do nothing but good things for people, I have healthy thoughts in my head, and I don't believe The Creator requires us to worship him like we do. I actually think he feels that the majority of us waste more time focused on him than we do focused on ourselves and humanity. So yea, VBS is wrong and should be outlawed.
For the one that says its up to the parents, you should change the way you think. No parent owns their child. If the child wants to go, let the child go and vice-versa.

No. I sent my son to Bible school this week. He also asked to go. It is a choice and adults make that choice for their children. Also he is learning about God and the Bible so someday he can make his own EDUCATED choice in what he wants to believe in.

Why should you or anyone else take away our freedoms because you either believe in something else or nothing at all? Last I knew this is a free country and a democracy and we all have the freedom to believe or not believe in what or who we want to.

Ignorance and lack of education breeds hatred and intolerance.

Peace

Religion has to much of an influence, especially in today's society. It would never be outlawed, because it gives people morals to live by (and might I say they aren't neccesarily bad)...
I myself would never study the bible, but don't condemn people not to!
I don't think people who believe in the bible should codemn me to read it either, or condemn me to hell for not reading there bible/ and studying under the house of god they choose (it should be a choice)... I think this is where people go wrong!

I would use the word PRAY instead of prey.

let the Kids know about the Goodness of God , instead of hanging out in the playground learning more bad words.
As a parent, i would encorage every parent to hang around the VBS activities, not because of the free snaks but also to make sure things are done right, to your liking.
Churches put effort into this because they care about kids not going to hell.

Kids get sent to vacation Bible school because their parents are Christians they have already been socialized into belief in the Bible.
