The more I look at the questions and answers on here I continue to see people making the claim they are being forced by others to accept their ideas. Excuse me, but exactly who is standing there beside you forcing you to sit down at the computer.? Who is manipulating your fingers beyond your control so that you get on the internet and go to Yahoo Answers? Who is holding your head facing it toward the computer screen and forcing your eyelids to stay open and look at the computer and read the comments that you don't like? What is really cute, is that on top of accusing other people of forcing their ideas on you is the sarcasm, and demeaning comments. C'mon guys lets be reasonable, are all the news casters in the world forcing their opinion on you? Just because someone talks to you about something, is not forcing anything on you. That is even more so if you are the one putting yourself in a position where you know you are going to be reading and seeing ideas from other people.

It is silly.

It reminds you of those totalitarian countries where it is against the law to even discuss any but the "state-approved" religions. Who wants that?

Yep, it's pretty silly. And this is the religion category, some of the others are worse. But that's free speech, the anonymity of the internet, etc, etc. There will always be people who are rude and nasty. As a Christian, I can only hope and pray that someday people will see that they haven't been very tolerant towards others and chage their ways. I just try to stay out of the hate. And there are quite a few respectful people here as well. God bless! :)

Well, if you want to get right down to the issue, no one can force you to believe anything. But some people go a little far in expressing their views. Take Mr. Mister for instance. I forget if he's done this on one of my posts (I've seen it so often), but on many atheists' posts he'll answer with a one liner and then give pages and pages of preaching, all the same for everyone one of his posts. Cut and paste. In that case, he's come searching for us, and I do consider that to be 'cramming his religion down our throats' as most people call it.

Atheists do it too, but it can't be as pronounced. We don't have a big book to copy into the text box.

It's understandable that people get their backs up when they read things they don't agree with. That's just human nature. Granted, some people do it more than others, but I think it's in almost all of our nature's to do it somewhat.

But, if people are reading through the Religion and Spirituality section and whining about being exposed to stuff about God, etc., then yes, they need to pick up some common sense.

I applaud you!! If you don't want to read it or hear it as the case may be, there are plenty of other sites and subjects you could click on so why come to this one just to harass others that may want to learn something? If you don't like it, don't come here. PERIOD!! Bunch of ignorant kids belly aching about somethinig that they have the control of and yet don't have the brains to just stop and go somewhere else if they don't like it.

Amen.

I love it how everyone gets so immature and cranky.

For athiests: If religion bothers you so much, get off the religion and spirituality section.

For believers: If athiests bother you so much, either defend your beliefs in a mature, calm manner, or just ignore them!! You're making us look bad...
