By being you. The time you guys spend together, talking encouraging one another, should let him know. Material things don't say "I Love You". Love is not the words or gifts it's the actions.

Buy him something that you know he will like.
I love boxing... if (and this has never happened to me) my girlfirend when out and got me the latest pair of gloves, or a new skipping rope, or a cool mouthguard, or something boxing-related... i would know she really loves me. It tells me that you are interested in my interests, and you accept and support me
For your bf, it is also the same method that he uses to express his love for you... he doesnt buy you soft toys becasue he likes them... he buys them becasue he thinks that you like them and that is his natural way of showing affection.

Calling you for no reason, than to say he misses you and loves you. Listening to your worries, being there for you and supporting you in times of need. Holding your hand in public, there are so many ways, but one thing is certain. Actions speak louder than words.

try getting him a small gift that he would know that you had to THINK about. Like something he once off handedly mentioned to you.
Guys DO notice those things.

if he already know you do but he wants you to show it then give him lots of kisses and hugs and sex that he won't forget.
if he doesn't know then don't show or tell him. let him fall in first. let him take the leap.
