You can get a positive result before your missed period -that is seven days after your ovulation period (mid-cycle) as the earliest, 10-12 days after the ovulation will give the better result, later than that ubtil the day of missed period and onwards will give the best result. It is however variable in every woman because the test largely depend on the level of hCG. Some pregnant women will not show a positive result even after a few days of their missed period. As the pregnancy progresses, the hCG increases and its level doubles in every 2-3 days. A blood test however could give more accurate result on the early stage.

Most tests claim to be some percentage accurate as early as the first day of the missed period. By a couple days after say 2-3 days you should get a definitive answer on almost any brand at home test.

Most OTC pg tests are so sensitive to HCG hormone that they will show positive the day of missed period or before. If you have a negetive test I would test 3-5 days after again to be sure. My positive showed 5 days before my period was due.

I would wait a week. You could have other things going on in your life that may cause stress and all us girls know that if you are stressed your period can become irregular...you might not be pregnant. But then again you may be. Whatever the outcome I hope it is what you wanted. Good luck

Most tests are sensitive enough that you can test on the first day you miss your period.

Basically, most modern PT's are accurate from the moment you realise you have missed your period.
So no need to wait any longer afther that.
