I met a seemingly wonderful guy online. We've spoken everyday for hours for about a week now. We plan to meet Saturday and we both are looking forward to meeting for the first time. When I called him today, he was in an ambulance on his way to the emergency room for a broken/fractured finger as a result of preventing someone from committing suicide (which was successful and emotional, i'm sure). My question is, should I go to the emergency room to show my support/give him comfort NOW, or should I wait to see him for our first date and keep in touch until then?

No, he hasn't asked for me to meet him at the hospital, but he did say "This is why I need a woman in my life...." If I'm supposed to be a potential partner, should I step up to the plate and go anyway? Would you?

Don't get it twisted regarding the ambulance. He is in law inforcement and the ambulance was already at the scene....lol...and I do agree, a finger isn't that big a deal.....thanks everyone!!!

Since you have never met him, wait. If his injury was more serious & would include an extended stay at the hospital, then I would go. I would ask him if he wanted to reschedule your meeting if he were unbale to drive or the hand were too painful to go out. But, anything else is just too much for not knowing someone.

You should go to the hospital...but since you did meet him over the internet, you should take a friend...just to be safe. Bring a friend the second time you meet him too...just to see what he's like outside of the hospital...if you think he's cool and seems safe, and your friend feels that way, then go ahead and go on dates (which should be in public places, the first few times) without the friend. Since you met him over the internet you never know what he's capable (he may seem super great saving people from suicide, which is great, but you don't know how he is with women he's in relationships) of, so better safe than sorry. So you should go see him at the hospital, and show your support, that would be great for both of you! I hope this helps and take care, and I hope it works out great.

for a finger? I wouldnt worry about it. Call him and make sure he's okay and offer to come up there if he says yes than go. Broken fingers really arn't a big deal, I'm shocked that he went in an ambulance..seems like a waste to me.

I mean you real don't just know this guy yeah you talk over the internet but hey. Maybe, you should wait I mean it's only a fractured finger. But if you feel that you goin to the hospital will make him like you better go head.

I would go. It sounds like he would not only be receptive but appreciative. What a wonderful gesture!
BTW, I met my fiance online. We couldn't wait to meet each other either. Our first meeting was spending the weekend together in Galveston! LOL
If you are meant to be, he will be happy to see you there. A visitor when you're int he hospital is always a good thing :)

this is part of his daily work... no need to rush to the scene... he is the rescuer, not you. Besides, he has to get his finger looked at, write reports, and deal with other formalities that go with his job, and that situation...

You appearing is just adding stress to an already stressful situation...

Wait for your date and give him a chance to talk about things. He will appreciate that. In the meantime, give him a call when he knocks off work and have a chat with him... he might need someone to talk to.

NO. In fact reschedule the meeting. You need to meet for the first time without all this drama. Do it right by starting your dating out on the right foot. Good Luck.

Don't go to the emergency room.
Just wait for the time to meet him.
You can visit me in Prison, do you live anywhere near Deer Creek?
