a healthy dog at that price will be difficult to find. I think the best place to try is petfinder.com. They list adoptable and for-sale pets across the country.

Your best bet is to rescue one.
If price is a concern, please research these dogs before buying one, and please don't buy one from a breeder. It's cruel to breed them so small. Because they are bred so small, there can be a LOT of veterinary expenses involved in owning a small chihuahua.
They're really cute, but chihuahuas demand a lot of attention and they always need someone around! If you want a fashion accessory, please don't get one--if you are looking for a loyal companion who is grateful to see you everytime you come home and who will always keep you company, you will want a chihuahua.
If you get a regular sized one, their vet bills are minimal. They are very inexpensive to feed and it's easy to travel with them, although they have tiny bladders so you have to stop a lot to let them out!

If you follow Dog Lover's advice and get one online, you will pay WAY more than $300, and who knows what you will be getting!!!!
You are better off just looking in the local paper and getting one from a backyard breeder!!!!!! At least you can see it first!!!!!
Clearly you annot afford a good dof from a good breeder, so you may get what you pay for!!

If you want a healthy dog you are probably going to have to invest some money. Otherwise you could check a shelter or humane society. They sometimes have dogs for free or cheap that people would spend hundreds on.
