Some people are scared of the doctor, and what they might find. So they rather ask a group of individuals who aren't trained to answer such a question. Some people want a few opinions instead of just a pregnancy test before they go to a doctor so when they go to a doctor they're not disappointed with the results. When you ask a woman who has been pregnant before, or a group, it is easier to feel comfortable than with a doctor and other pregnant women or women who have been pregnant before can help you through it.

Maybe some people are just so frightened that they are pregnant that what they are really hoping for is for the answer no instead of yes, some girls do get themselves into trouble through lack of education or just been so innocent, credit were credit is due yes a doctor or chemist is your best bet for pregnancy tests, but sometimes a bit of help or advice for those in trouble is helpful too, just thank your lucky stars your not a kid with the pregnancy worry OK.

I clicked on the Q&A of the girl who asked was she pregnant, it was the only question she had asked.
Even just to tell her to go to the doc or do a home test is more friendly and kind than to react like another answerer who repeated over and over how annoying such a question was and is.
What I don't understand is why you girls don't just ignore these girls questions- there are plenty of others to answer....
alot of which you cannot help with, but because you're not bored of the question you give your answers or candystore psycology or stories re your own experiences.
Live and let live.

Some people can't get appointments for a while, and pregnancy tests have a false negative trait. I know that when I was pregnant with my 1st child.. I took a test because I thought I was.. and it was negative.. but I was POSITIVE I was pregnant.. so I took another 2 weeks later.. negative again.. So, I called my doctor.. and couldn't get an appointment for 3 weeks. That's a long time to wait when you think you're pregnant..

All I say is, I've had the snip so it wasn't me!

Anyone dumb enough to ask questions like that shouldn't be allowed to get close enough to a man to even have a remote chance of becoming pregnant - they're obviously not mature enough for the responsibility of having a child!

i agree with "snooky me" i hate the god preachers SO much!!!!

some of the people asking if they are pregnant could be young girls that are to scared or embarrassed to go to the Dr's or pharmacy. maybe they want reassurance, i know when i was a young girl with the pregnancy scares i had, i would of been pleased for a site like this so i could ask questions about it which now i can see are pointless cos like you said "how can anyone know" but to a young person with inexperience they may not realise its pointless asking a question like that or maybe they just need someone to talk to.

yeah.. it use to get on my nurves... now i see it as an opportunity to mess with people! i tell them that they are looking for an answer only a psychic could make... then i go on to tell them everything i know about them (of which i get from their other yahoo answers and questions). then i tell them i think they have just recently started worrying about being pregnant but i don't see an answer clearly. then i tell them to take a test. it's fun to see their "freaked out" e-mails wondering how i saw all of the things i talked about :)

yes, I think that today there are enough pregnancy tests you can get from the local chemist's and it is easy to go and see a GP if you're in the UK.
