I've heard it's full moon. I have been told to hope I don't go into labor on the full moon because the labor and delivery unit at the hospital is always very crowded. I asked a nurse at the hospital where I had my babies and she said it's the weirdest thing but it's true, on full moons the maternity ward is chaos.

I also once heard a story about a group of women who were members of a natural birthing class. There were six or eight women in the group, due around the same time. Toward the end of the class, there was a full moon and the next day 4 of the babies turned breech and the women ended up having c-sections. Talk about freaky!

Well seeing that a baby is born every few seconds, I would say there is no truth to the "moon" labor therory. I did have a lady walk up to me in the supermarket and tell me my baby would be born during a "new moon." He was.

There is no evidence to suggest that the moon's phases affect labor.
