Classic matchup between power punching Foreman vs great boxer Holmes. I believe that Holmes would be able to withstand Foreman's thunderous punches early in the fight while keeping away from Foreman's heavy artillery using hard jabs and win by decision because of superior boxing skills.

Larry Holmes wins. Hollmes had more stamina and ring generalship than Foreman. You could never count Foreman out because if he landed that one punch, he could end the fight. I just see Holmes closing Foreman's eyes with what might have been the best jab ever and then beating a worn out Foreman somewhere between Rounds 8 -10.

I'm assuming this is a comparison of the two in their prime, Foreman early 70s vs Holmes late 70s-early 80s. The winner of this match-up would be Larry Holmes. Larry had arguably one of the best jabs in heavyweight history. He'd pick apart Foreman who would be lumbering around the ring throwing wide looping "hay makers" until he hit something. On top of his stellar jab, Holmes' possessed an exceptional chin. Larry in a Unanimous Decision. .

Interesting question. Holmes a great all around boxer, Foreman the possessor of the great equalizer; clubbing punching power that could stun and paralyze opponents. If Holmes could box and move keep his jab in Foreman's face he wins. If Foreman is able to suck Holmes in and go toe to toe Foreman clubs him down. I think that Holmes gets up off the canvas twice to win a disputed and razor thin split decision by stealing the late rounds of the fight on the judges scorecards. Good question, awesome fight!

I'd go for George Foreman. Ali needed something special to get past George and believe me he used every trick in the book to best him. Using lead right hands, the rope a dope to physically pushing his down. George could hit hard, and could cut of the ring and was also very tough physically. Larry was fast, probably the same speed as Ali was at that age but I think George would have tagged him. Larry took a great shot a strong man as well but George would have kept on coming he was a fast man for someone so big. George by knock out but it would be tough. Larry's no-body's fool and he's a wily one with the courage to match he's outstanding skills. Close fight George by knock out or Larry by decision or knock out. Could go either way.

I believe Larry Holmes would win the match. He'd outbox him and can go toe to toe with George Foreman. He's so underrated for what he'd done in boxing. Great fantasy boxing match that fans would love to see.

In their prime, Foreman would have killed Holmes. Of course I wasn't giving Ali much of a chance either. So what do I know.

Smitty vs. all the people who taking my dream fights. I am going to knock them out.
Holmes - W 69 (KO's 43) TF 75 - wins over Norton, Spinks, Witherspoon and Ali (however, Ali was washed up) - KO'ed by Tyson (Holmes was 40 yrs) - good chin - expert boxer - was still fighting at 50 (ridiculous).
27th greatest fighter of all-time
Foreman - W 76 (KO's 68) TF 81 - wins over Chuvalo, Frazier, Lyle and Norton - KO'ed by Ali (exhaustion)
9th greatest puncher of all-time
25th greatest fighter of all-time
Two possible outcomes - Foreman by a 14th rd KO or Holmes by a unanimous decision.
