According to our vet, she can go into heat again right after the kittens are starting to eat solids and drink water and she is nursing them less. We just had our mama cat spayed last week. Her babies will be 3 months old on Monday. We had to wait to have her spayed until she was not nursing and her mammary glands were no longer swollen. I remember when I was young and on summer vacation at my grandparent's farm that sometimes the barn mama cats would have had 2 litters by the time we went back to school in September.

Do you know that every time a cat goes into heat it increases its risk of cervical cancer? One litter is more than enough considering the amount of kittens and cats that are in shelters. It is a wonderful thing to experience but for the sake of the mom cat I do hope you are considering her health risks. It is far cheaper to fix your cat than it is to treat cancer or to put the cat down if you can't afford cancer treatment. Something to think about.

It depends on the breed a lot, but as early as a week and a half.

SPAY HER!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T LET HER GET PREGNANT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SPAYED BEFORE HER FIRST HEAT IN MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!! THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY CATS/KITS WHO ARE IN ANIMAL SHELTERS RIGHT NOW. YOU WILL JUST BE INCREAING THE SITUATION AGAIN!!!!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER LET HER HAVE THAT FIRST LITTER OF KITTENS!!!!!!! SPAY HER YOU IRRESPONSIBLE PET OWNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
