Beagles are known for what is called a reverse sneeze.
HW is serious if she has not been on preventative she needs to be tested.
KC - Kennel cough should go away in about a week. Vets usually put them on an antibiotic to prevent any bacterial infection while their immune system is fighting the virus. I give mine vicks 44 to break up the mucus.
Distemper you would already be at the vet it has several nasty symptoms that go with it.
Animals don't usually get a cough from being old. Old smokers get a cough.

She needs to go to a vet if it persists... if it sounds like a deep nasty burb type cough, she could have kennel cough, dilated cardiomyopathy or something else serious. It's not worth the chance... take her to the vet!

Sounds like "distemper", can get serious.
Much like the "croup' in humans. Go to a vet for meds.
