lets say that you have a long-distance relationship, and it's Inevitable that you’d find someone who you can commiserate the loneliness with, would you consider that cheating per se?

no whether the relationship is long distance or not it would be cheating. If you are finding yourself lonely in the sex department then you dont have to go and do it with someone.... its a fact that the best most pleasurable sex comes from doing it yourself the only difference between having sex with someone and doing it yourself is the hugging and cuddling that goes on when you are with someone else. Now if you find yourself lonely in the emotional or mental areas calll your partner talk to them....
and no i wouldn't cheat on a partner its normal to look and feel ways about other people but there is a line btwn thinking and doing.....

Cheating is cheating period. There should be no excuses whether you get caught or not. Cheating is any form of emotional, phsyical or mental need or dependency that should be fulfilled by your partner but is being fulfilled by someone who's not your partner. You obviously believe your long distance relationship is going no where, then why are you still working at it. A long distance relationship is hard believe me I've been there but loneliness and comfort should be offered by your partner, family or a friend. Don't look outside of that, you're just looking for trouble if you do. You need to decide if you really want this long distance relationship to work or not.

Yes, personally I would consider it cheating. As long as you know you're already dating someone(no matter how far the distance) yet you hook up with, or start dating someone else, it's cheating. If you're in a long-distance situation and something like this happens, I'd start questioning whether I can handle the distance,r or need something closer to home, if I were you. I'd say getting caught only makes it worse, but the most important part of any relationship is honesty, and that's what you need to keep in mind.

Cheating is cheating! If u know what u did is cheating it doesn't matter if the other person doesn't know it still doesn't change what u did. If your so lonely and u need a type of relationship where you are close to the person, then why be with someone long distance? The person you are seeing long distance is obviously not that important to u. So, why not just do urself a favor and break it off with them. That why u don't keep dragging that person along.

Yes because you are dating, even though it's long distance. You should just tell the long distance person how you are feeling and talk about what happened and what you two can do to solve it. If you enjoy spending time with the one you are cheating with then go and be with her, why keep wasting someone else's time and yours by lying to yourself and the other person? Do the right thing.

I mean, come on. Does anyone get what does it mean 'to cheat'??? If you're happy with your boy and you decide to have long-distance relationship it's because you want to be with them and just with them. If you can't do that, don't do long-distance! I had a long-dustance relationship and I have never cheated on my boyfriend. Even if you feel lonely, you just need to call him/her and tell him/her that, he/she is the one you should talk to, and not try to find someone else not to feel lonely and then go back to your relationship like if nothing happened. Come on, wake up people. Relationship means trust and honesty, you can't be honest, dont be in relationship or be in an open one.

My advice is to just be friends till you are closer together. Cheating is cheating whether you get caught or not, but if you're just friends, it's not cheating. But I'm sure it'll still bother the other person a lot, can't fix that part.

If you vowed to be faithful to the person with whom you are in the long distance relationship, then getting with someone else is cheating, no doubt. Is it something you'd lie about if asked? It's cheating.

Yes, just break up. Of course that's cheating!! And it's not just cheating when you get caught, it's also when (if you are any kind of decent) you feel guilty about what you have done. OR when you have to go to the doc to get rid of what you caught from screwing around. Just break up with her first. Sheesh
