Ask them, most of the time they will brag about being here illegally and laugh in your face. You can also call the illegal immigration office at 1-800-347-2423 and report them.

There is no good way. If you ask for their papers you are being very rude, and they could show false ones that appear very real. You could ask them. They might tell you the truth, they might not. Or you could just not worry about it. Are you trying to find out for a particular reason? Are you going to have every stranger you assume is illegal hassled by immigration? Also dont go by their English speaking abilities. They may be permanent residents that have not had time to learn, may be seasonal workers on visa that do not need to know the language, may be in the process of learning.

Join the KKK.

pity the cold war is over you could just denounce them as communists.

Or maybe you should just mind your own business and let people have the right to live in peace.

In the bible it is supposidly said that god promises israel to the jewish people.

Do a certain people have a right to land and others not.

I think by not being a native american indian that you could be considered an illegal immigrant.

I think if the native americans let you stay you should be able to let others stay, at least they are not killing you by the millions to be in your country.

You need their authorization to request INS for their documents. Unless you are an employer/bank or some such other body/person with authority to do so, it is unlikely that these documents would be made availabe to you.

The only way to truly know is to check their documents and search related records.
