Israel's pounding of Hezbollah positions across Lebanon expanded Friday with missiles targeting bridges in the Christian heartland north of Beirut for the first time. A top U.N. aid official said air strikes on the main north-south highway risked cutting off Lebanon's "umbilical cord" to the world.

Five Lebanese civilians were killed and 19 wounded in the Israeli airstrikes north of the capital in Christian areas where Hezbollah has little support or presence, including the picturesque coastal resort of Jounieh.

Israel's defense is a little bit of an overreaction, but Israel has the right to target Hezbollah operatives. It is Hezbollah's fault that civilians are dying,they are using them as human shields, The pounding of the hi ways and bridges is to keep Hezbollah operatives from going to other countries so other countries are not bombed as well. If Lebanon did not want this too happen, there strong government as there prime minister claims would of taken care of it before it got to this. Israel is in way trying to kill Christians, it is all Hezbollah's fault.

Actually, Israel is trying to kill only its armed enemies, who are hiding among civilians, including Lebanese Christians, as their strategic defense.
Even the two examples that you gave ("targeting bridges" and "the main north-south highway") demonstrate that Israel is trying to hit strategic infrastructure rather than kill civilians.
Your ire should be directed toward Hezbollah, which is targeting *only* civilians in its shelling of Israeli territory. This is a continuation of the same madness to wipe out Israel, as was done when Iraq fired scud missiles at Israeli cities in the early 90s, and all the suicide bombers hitting civilian targets, and all the efforts to murder Jews and destroy the nation of Israel since its creation in 1948.

Israel is not trying to kill Christians. They did not fire the first shot. They have the right to defend their nation. What do you want them to do, just sit back and take it. In 1968, Olympics-Munich. Palestine came in and murdered all of the athletes from Israel. The Palestine Nation is founded by terrorists. Not all that live there are, but it was founded by terrorists. Hezbollah is a terrorist organization. Lebanon is allowing Hezbollah to reside in their country instead of denouncing them. I am not a Jew, I am a Christian, but I pray for the Nation of Israel. I am so glad they are not backing down. They do not owe an apology to the world. They have taken this abuse for far too long.

Isrealis are not against any religion in perticular ,but they are delibrately targetting Hezbulla strong holds, irresepective of which part of lebanon they are from ,the idea is to Cut down misslie attacks ,by disturbing transport means cause they use missile launchers which are moveable from one place to another .I really appriciate their military tacticks ,but it is unfortunate that civillions are are getting injured,but Isrealis actions are very civilised cause they put leaflet warnings which no other countries will do including US, One thing u should note that ,new infections need new drugs so as new war tactics has to be desigend to win terrorists like Hezbulla ,but victory is a must .Lenonen pple are telling where the internationl community is ? just looking and watching and doing nothing ? but tell me one thing ,didnt the international comunity call for disarmment fo Hezbulla long time back ?then why didnt they listen ...now let them pay the price ............. whole world will fight against terrorism no matter which country is being attaked

Because the U.S. is allowing and supporting them in whatever they do. This is Isreal's excuse to take up more land.
Probably to get back at Mel Gibson for what he said about Jews, no seriously because of my fisrt response, if the U.S. didn't support Isreal, as most countries don't, the would not feel that theu are free to do whatever they please.
Anyway, what difference does it make if they kill muslims or christians, the little muslim children that die are as innocent as the christian children, they could not choose where to be born or live. They are simply guilty of existing.
And the Jewish faith killed Jesus, so why not Christians.
