what if organized religion was the work of satan?

Question

it seems that organized religion has turned man against each other,for the most part.if you believe that satan is the greatest liar of all time.then couldn't it be possible that he used this method?
(divide and conquer).personally i don't believe in organized religion or satan.and i don't know if there is a god or not,but i do know that i try to do the right things in life,i don't worry about where i'm going when i leave this organic shell.
just wandering what people think about it?

I don't believe in Satan either. However, the gospel of Judas speaks some to what you're saying. Christ interprets Judas' dream about 12 priests in a temple, saying that these priests are his apostles and that they will lead legions of people astray because of their lack of understanding of christ's message and because of their own corrupt ways (he said future church leaders will be pedophiles, murderers, and more.)

I think if you look a little more broadly at history, you'll see the good that "organized religion" has done. You should remember also that human beings are social creatures; as long as they have any kind of religion (which seems likely to be forever), they'll "do" their religion together -- i.e., they'll have organized religion. You might as well say that human social structures have "turned people against each other." Sure they have, but they've also done enormous good. Our whole ethic of individual rights and social justice derives ultimately from organized religion. Don't knock it, but try to help fix it where it's broken.

interesting theory and one i have thought about before ... although I'm the same as you and don't believe in Satan .. but it does make more sense than those " organised religions " who call me a Satan worshipper because i am a spiritualist medium ... i speak with spirit and pass on messages to loved ones who are grieving
i cannot figure why doing something so beautiful can be in any way related to demons or devils unless those demons or devils don't want me to be doing something so beautiful ( if you get me " wink " ) lol
live your life well ... don't worry about burning in hell because a good person wouldn't even if there was a hell .. live for the now .. and be yourself

then a Lot of Christians are in troubLe because i heard them say that they wouLdn't stop beLieving no matter what. so if God Himself comes and says they were wrong i guess they'd stiLL beLieve the Lie
