You have to be 30 years old and a US Citizen for nine years.
You just have to run for office. Senators serve for six years so see when your state has an open seat. There are two federal seats in each state and each state has state senators as well.
It is expensive because effective campaigning is not cheap.

how to get a seat in the senate??/ easy question... be a good liar. and tell the dumb people what they wanto to hear...easy as that... promise anything once you get to the senate forget everything....
