What is the best and effective way of moulding a child to become a good citizen of the future?

I believe the most effective way to mold a child is:
Be involved with them! (Interact with things they want to do, with your guidance though)
Communicate openly! (Let them know right from wrong and the reasons behind decisions made. Get their opinions)
Accountability! (Know where there are and what they are doing, set agreed guidelines)

I have 3 kids coming down the pipe and this philosophy is working very well!

Kids learn from thier peers, so be a great citizen yourself and your kid will follow siut
