The gauge is how long you want it to be. You will be on the re-bound for a little while and feel sorry for yourself for even longer. but until you realise how much you have to offer some one else... you will always be heart broken.... some people you will think about everyday but if you tried at least you can say you did... if you didn't you better get out there and do something about it or you will regret it forever.

sorry, no gauges for that subject. But you can cushion the affects of the blow. You can date around, but then you have a chance of falling for someone else again before you get a chance to heal from the last one and that ends up making it worse. Also, that's totally unfair to the other person/ people involved. I say don't go that route. Maybe just keep yourself busy and hang with friends.

Sure---I think you can pick one up at Home Depot, next to the thermometers and the calibrators.
I MAKE JOKE! Sorry, no. It's one of those things you have to take on faith. You can't show anyone your pain----you can't take a pill for the pain. But you know it's there, don't you? It's like faith. Fortunately, though, people are more compassionate to people with broken hearts than they are people with faith. So, I'm sure someone will be around to help you out.

I believe everyone heals in their own time. The lenght of time you will take to heal depends on how much the other person was loved or valued by you and your attitude towards life. For some people it seems that the impressions left by the one they loved will never go away..read the lyrics to 'My Immortal':

For fairly short relationships, count on taking about twice the amount of time the relationship lasted.
But there is a limit. A long-term relationship that ends should take less than its own amount of time to get over.
I think at most you're looking at about two years.

No... hence the saying, "only time will tell."
For some people it takes weeks, others months, others years. It depends on the situation....but a broken heart is pretty serious so I would estimate at least a year.

When you can look at a picture or remember an event from the relationship and think of it only fondly without feeling like you got kicked in the gut...that happens over a different amount of time for everyone, and when it never happens you're married...
