I asked my bf of 6 years if he wanted to marry me someday and he said he knows we will end up stuck together. What does he mean by stuck together?...I mean, wouldn't a guy be happy to marry the woman he loves? Why did he say he knows we be STUCK together as if it's a bad thing?

He usually isn't funny...and when he said this to me he sounded like as if he were sad or upset about it...like as if he his favorite football team just lost the super bowl.

6 years and he doesn't want or is not enthusiastic about marrying you? That's weird. 6 years is too long. Seems like the both of you want different things, you want to marry and he doesn't. Are you happy......be honest with yourself and if you're truly really are not then move on and find yourself a man who's willing to marry you.

he may not be sure if he wants to make that big of a commencement , he problem feels he doesn't want to fail being married.. or he might feel he doesn't want to be hurt and go trough something that is going to be twice hard to end.. women think yes I'm married and i get to by the dress and the ring we dream about that day all are life's...but really think giving your life to him making every last choice you have with one another and having to have to be understanding know matter how much you disagree.. just think of the real picture here.. never say never what if you meant a guy and you started having feeling you may say I would never 'no' you have no idea how you will feel 10 years from now.. and he might be feeling the same way..giving your life to one another is one important decision to make regardless of how much you love each other things always change no matter how much you don't want them too.

I think He loves you He may have a fear of marriage he may be thinking why mess with a Great thing we have.
the avg. marriage these Days lasting 3 to 5 years .

It does sound like a bad thing. SO let him know how you feel. And let him know that is he is not going to marry you that he is waisting your time b/c you want to get married.

Ask him again and see if he gives you the same answer. Sounds to me he's either joking OR he's not ready for a committment.
