There's a big difference between "not being perfect" and purposely doing wrong. You can be "not perfect" and still be a very good person.

We say "We are not perfect" because the world thinks that we are. When someone somes up to our faces telling us that we are hypocrites, we admit that, yeah, we are. But God forgives us for that. It's not an excuse that we use on God, it's a way of showing everyone else that we sin just like everyone else. We know that we are not perfect but if you have a true faith in Christ, you strive for perfection. We know that we will never be perfect but God knows that as well. It's just our way of telling you guys to stay off of our backs when we sin. Most of us do know when we sin and then it's the Holy Spirit's job to convict us for it, not the world's. We don't want you to tell us when we are wrong, we'd rather hear it from God.

Well i will say that some Christians do things purposely and they hide under the umbrella of that grace that we Christians have. Our not being perfect according to the word of God is that "our righeousness is just like a filty rag" which means as true worshippers and believers of God, we are not perfect before God, even though we keep to the ten commandment, we are still not holy before God the Almighty. the basic thing here is that true believer should not dwell in sin and also seek the grace of God.

I agree with your first two sentences. I disagree with your third. Making excuse for doing wrong does not in any way correct or forgive the wrong. We live in a universe of consequences. There are natural laws all over the place that prove that. There is an effect for every cause. And doing evil is no exception. We have no power to declare our own evil good. Nor can we make a falling apple not hit the ground by simple saying that it won't.

As for people still being very good, the Romans 3:10-18 says otherwise:

“None is righteous, no, not one;
no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
“Their throat is an open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive.”
“The venom of asps is under their lips.”
“Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
“Their feet are swift to shed blood;
in their paths are ruin and misery,
and the way of peace they have not known.”
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Have a great day.

It God there is no such person as a good person. Everyone has sin and fall short of the glory of God.

There is no excuse to do evil - if a person loves God he will not want to disappoint God by doing evil. Yes, everyone including Christian still sin at times but because Jesus had taken our punishment so we go free.

Is that kind of behavior limited to believers? If not, that means that humans aren't perfect. A question, though: is it theoretically possible for a "very good person" to "purposely do wrong" (from someone else's viewpoint) or would that person be disqualified and become a "very bad person"?

Its not an excuse it is a FACT.
Christians do some dumb things, see Mel G.
If we did not we could oh walk on water, move some mountains around, little things like that.

You can be "not perfect" and still be a very good person.

Hitler in WW1 (world war ONE) was a very good person, Honest, trustworthy, brave, looked up to.

you at the instant are not awareness the Bible. In Gen. it tells us that Jesus have been given to be the Christ because of fact he grew to become into the only angel that had never sinned! I definitely have long gone by way of my New testomony and counted over 550 places that state that Jesus isn't God! Like the place Jesus reported: Why do you call me "sturdy"? i'm not sturdy. in basic terms God is powerful.". "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and potential, and how he went around doing sturdy and therapeutic all who have been below the potential of the devil, because of fact God grew to become into WITH him." "...you have never heard his voice nor seen his type,...". "For the very artwork that the father has given me to end, and which i'm doing, testifies that the father has sent me." it is terrific to obey the Bible, not lazy human beings very own needs and desires.

What does being a God believer have to do with your question? Osama Bin Laden believes in his god. Nobody is perfect. Anyone, Believer or not, can justify their deeds, at least in their minds. Or are you just being judgmental and trying to pick a fight? What's your excuse?
