Dogs should not be altered to protect your children.
Your children should NEVER be allowed around a dog unsepervised. It is not safe for them or the dog.

90+ % of dogs are never going to consider touching a child with their teeth. The rest are not going to be safe with children regardless of the teeth. Dogs that are abused into attack are in homes that should have a dog or any other animal.
Even a dog normally safe is shocked ito a bite by a toddler falling on them or some such thing (an extreamly rare event) will seldom do more than nip & never bring the tearing teeth into action.
It's a sad, sad thing that this question keep showing up on this pannel........

Is this your First Dog? Of course their teeth should not be altered. Your children should not be around a puppy if they are too young to know how to treat them. It is common knowledge that puppies have sharp little teeth and need to chew a a lot. And hey, they are puppies, it's the only way they know how to play. It's not like that have hands. Dogs have used their mouths to play, eat, defend, clean themselves, lick their wounds or irritants, etc.
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? Perhaps you should find a suitable home for your puppy, and wait until the children are big enough to handle the puppy.

I have heard of people having the incisors (fang) pulled but Ive never had it done myself. I save everything I can but if the dog is a threat to the children you really should consider rehoming. I do find homes for dogs that are not good with children. It often takes longer to find them the right home but it can be done. Check with your local rescue. Petsmart works with resues. If all the vetting is done and and you can foster there should be no reason for them not to work with you to find him a home without children. If the dog has bitten (left a wound) he would be considered to have a bite history and you may not be able to place him.
I do understand if you have them removed. Its something that would be necessary for him to continue his life with his family. As long as vets still crop ears there is no reason for them not to pull teeth for you to keep him. I would have the vet check for some other medical issue that may be making him more irratible.
You should also consider a behavioralist. Becareful these folks are coming out of the wood work, but find someone with respectable references. There are techniques that can be done to help retrain your dog to enjoy his children.
I hope all works out well and if you have any doubt about the safety of the children around the dog do not leave them alone. Accidents happen with us right there let alone when we turn our backs.

Not a good idea. If they are dangerous around children then the dog needs to find a new home.

Oh my goodness! No! Don't mutilate your dog for that reason. If it bites, and you can't train it to stop, then take it to a shelter. Even if you remove it's canines, it has other teeth! Most dogs are perfectly safe with children.
