Why do people mistake confidence for for being cocky? What is the world if you can praise yourself? I'm a fifteen year old African-American boxer and someone says your a discrace represent another country. I bet if my idol Muhammad Ali started going into his brags they'd think it was funny.

There's nothing wrong with exuding self-confidence. It's only when you couple it with arrogance then cockiness rears up. People and the media can pick up cockiness real fast.
But, if handled correctly, it may not necessarily be held againsts you. If you won a gold medal for boxing in the Olympics, hell ya, you can be cocky and be proud of it, and we along with you!

you have a low insight for an idol, muhammad ali isnt someone to idolize. he was a great boxer. but he let his mouth get his ass sacked a few times. george foreman shut it, joe frazier broke it. now look at him. he looks like a human vibrator the way he walks around shaking from brain damage where he had that head beat on so much.same thing will happen to you too. you like to box thats fine you like to run your mouth that isnt. someone will shut it oo. someone will break it. and i truly hope you do not turn into a human vibrator to.

There is a very fine line between confidence and arrogance - one is charming and attractive the other is ugly and so completely unattractive and egotistical. Don't cross the line.!!
