Make up a gift basket, get a good size basket at a craft store, put in a a pair of binoculars to watch or a camera to take pictures of the birds, a few packets of flower seeds sticking out of a pair of gardening gloves, and a gift certificate to a shoe store for her to get a good pair of walking shoes. And stick a big bow on it. And as the poster above me said, spend time with her, perhaps go for a walk pointing out birds with her, and help her get a garden area ready and help her pant it.

Log on to www.treesbypost.co.uk This is a wondeful site where you can buy shrubs and trees and have them delivered as a gift and it is not expensive, you can buy a fruit or nut tree (Hazel nut, Walnut etc.) for about £16. It might be an idea to sound out your Mum, what, if she had a choice, new tree or shrub would she put in her garden.

You could get her a birdbath, bird feeders (feed to go in it as well),something to hang the bird feeder on and then hang it for her, bird house, and it wouldn't hurt to get her a cane or walker, and get her a potted flower that she can plant in her garden, get or make her a birthday card letting her know how much you love and appreciate her. Happy 60th Birthday to your mom from me.

Buy her a lifetime membership of the RSPB. Buy her tickets for the Chelsea Flower Show next year, or a lifetime mebership of the Ramblers Association.
The alternative is to devote a whole day of your time to your mother, that is the most precious thing you can give her.
