Are you sure you don't have strep? If not, try gargling with warm salt water. You can also try the OTC medicines like Cepacol or whatever it is.

First u should know the reason why - if its not the result of a serious medical conditionn - gargle with salt water - sip a mix of honey and lemon juice

I found ice cream with honey helped me with my last sore throat. The cold of ice cream soothed and the honey will help heal the throat and it is yummy anyway.
